For those who are curious or asking why I'm doing another version of this fusion idea. Well, it's because I didn't like the original version of the fusion. It didn't look like a mix between Steven and Jasper. For example, if I didn't say that the old design was a fusion between Steven and Jasper, you would never know it was a fusion of them. Also, I just didn't like the old design. The anatomy was wonky, even for a slimmer design, the face wasn't quiet right to me, and I wasn't a big fan on how I drew their hair. Also, I wanted to update the design since we now know what Corrupted Steven looks like. (Also if this character looks too similar to other fan fusions of Steven and Jasper, sorry, but it's kind of hard mixing the two designs together without a little repetition.) Now with that explanation over with, onto the character themselves. Obviously, this is Lake Superior Agate. Their a fusion between the canonical characters of Steven Universe and Jasper. Unlike other fan fusions of this pairing, I made them chunky to show off their imperfection.

They refer to themselves as They/Them. (They prefer to be called Lake since their full name is a mouthful. They also like to be called Superior to boost their ego.) (Also I do ship Steven and Jasper together and I ship Steven and Connie together. Just letting you know.) 

They kind of mess up the worst traits of Steven and Jasper. Their egotistical for the most part, they have a short fuse, their kind of obsessive, and they love to fight. However, they are not the most stable of fusion, since Steven and Jasper have a deep self-hatred of themselves that gets worse with their fusion. They're also huge, since the pics of Steven and Jasper are to one, show what comprises of the fusion, and two to compare the sizes of the two to their fusion. (Note: The pictures of Steven and Jasper are not own by me, they are stock pictures I got from the Wikipedia. I do not own them.) I hope you like the picture.

(Update: Wanted to add more to the character and flesh them out.) In my Headcannon, each gem adds their own unique spark to a fusion. This spark is based on the gem themselves and not what type of gem they are. Jasper's quirk is that her fusions represent one of the seven deadly sins. For Lake Superior, it's Pride. (Kind of obvious since her name literally has the word Superior in it. I wasn't meaning for that to be a thing. I originally didn't know what Jasper's quirk was when I was designing them, so me picking out this gemstone that fits this quirk is just a funny coincidence.) Also, since Jasper can possibly fuses with any gem, more than one fusion can represent a deadly sin. For example, Jasper's fusion with Ocean Jasper also represents the sin of Pride. Steven's quirk is that all his weapons are knick-knacks/toys. However, I don't have a clear idea on what their weapon could be. I got an idea, but I'm not so sure about it. Anyway, in my Headcannon, whenever an uncorrupted gem fuses with a regular gem, their corruption scares appear on the fusion. For Jasper, it's her horns and spots. For Steven, in my Headcannon, he has pink back scales (Which are easily hidden by his shirt). However, when two uncorrupted gems fuse, unless they are the same gemstone (i.e. The Watermelon Tourmaline we've seen in the show or for another example if two Nephrites fused), their fusion will have a combination of their scars and will be slightly more corrupted. (Don't worry, the fused components won't corrupt when they unfuse.) As for how and why Steven and Jasper fused, well, I have something planned for that later. If other animators/drawers want to help me out with this project, I would love the help. I want to look as good as it can be. (I will explain more if you do talk to me about this.)

So Twig over on Instagram made a bunch of fusion ideas, and their idea of a fusion between Jasper and Steven looked a lot like a Lynel from Legend of Zelda : Breathe of the Wild, and that inspired me.

I like to think that it’d be a situation either like with Sugalite or Malachite. Sugalite being, they fused together willingly and then their fusion went out of control. Malachite being, Jasper trapped Steven in a fusion.

Artist horror story: I did all this in one layer. All the references are on the same layer as the sketches and I did not make a seperate layer once. The refs are just from a screenshot of google search.

Includes my in development Steven and Jasper fusion! Basicly the devil in shorts. I think they have a lot of reds. Not sure what to name it, but a toxic mineral would be suiting wouldn’t it...

Plus a scene out of the “au” I have in my head where they actually fuse n stuff.

*I’m gonna draw more custom fusions and nobody can stope me* This one is called Ametrine, and as you could have guessed, it’s a fusion of Steven and Jasper (I got inspired from the 1st episode of SUF)! I like Steven fusions, cause his clothes kinda mix with the other gem’s ones, which is really interesting to draw Don’t know what custom fusion I’ll draw next  I’d really like to draw fusions between Lapis, Peridot and Bismuth, maybe one between all of them
