I first met Steven Nelson (cellist in The Piano Guys) when he was a missionary at the MTC. When they come on tour, I buy tickets to the show and contact him and he arranges some meet-and-greet passes. They treat my nieces and nephews so well (and I get a ton of cool-uncle cred).
This year when I contacted him to ask for the passes, I added “Also, on an unrelated note, your wife mentioned Richard Ostler, maybe tagged him or he replied to something, I don't remember, somehow I saw that she mentioned him, and that you guys are in the same ward and she's learned a lot about being an ally. That made me so happy to read. Bless her.”
We had some fun after the concert, they joked and played with the kids. Then he got serious, looked me in the eye and said, “David, I hope you’re happy because you deserve all the happiness in the world.”
