Unpopular Opinions #1
This is just me listing my unpopular opinions on various movies, television shows, animation, etc.
1. Black Panther is an overrated and “meh” movie. This movie is not horrible nor good, it’s just okay. Some of the acting is pretty good and there were two action scenes (M’Baku vs. T’Challa and the Korea fight scene) that I liked, while the rest were pretty boring. Most of the visual effects were pretty bad. I thought T’Challa in this movie was dour and boring, I felt like there was not much going on in this movie, and I knew what was going to happen throughout the entire run time. Also, you can skip this movie entirely and you won’t miss a thing in the MCU. (I mean Iron Man 3 is super underrated and that movie is pretty much a standalone movie too.) The biggest problem though in this movie was that Black Panther was pretty much perfect throughout the entire movie. He drinks some purple herb that gives him his strength and he’s invincible with it. And I know that you guys are gonna mention that Cap has the serum and that other heroes have powers that were given to them. Biggest difference is that Cap’s morals are doing what’s right and finding his place in the world, while even before he got the serum he still wanted to help people. In the beginning of Winter Soldier, we see him running for like 13 miles and he didn’t break a sweat. It’s a nice detail that in order to have the serum’s strength, he has to constantly work out in order to keep his momentum up. But in BP he drinks the herb and he’s perfect. He was much more interesting in Civil War and his arc with getting vengeance on the person who killed his father was so much better than his arc in his own movie, or lack thereof. The movie is boring and just a series of scenes of people talking to each other. Not horrible but not good, just okay.
2. Equestria Girls is better than Friendship is Magic. Yes, I’m going there. I just feel like the EQG series is more relatable and has more interesting storylines in their show than FIM. With FIM recently, I feel like the episodes are either rehashes of other episodes or just not that interesting. I also like how magic is incorporated into EQG. So yeah, that’s it.
3. The movies “Unsane” and “Game Night” are the most underrated movies of the year. Seriously, these movies are so good and no one talks about them. “Unsane” is a very low budget thriller shot on an iPhone 7 Plus and it looks so good. Comes to show that you don’t need to have a big budget or expensive equipment in order to make a good movie. Get yourself some cheap cameras or even your phone, a talented crew, and have a story in mind. The movie was shot very beautifully and the acting was really superb. The story was pretty good, movie about a woman being trapped hostage in a mental institution and that’s all I’m gonna say for the plot. Only bad things were that the music is pretty bad, the pacing towards the end of the second half would get slow, and the ending was so poorly shot and so poorly edited that I laughed my ass off while I was watching it. But it’s a pretty good movie. “Game Night” is fucking hilarious and the story has so many interesting twists and turns that it kept me hooked from beginning to end. Also the acting was really funny and nice. The basic plot is that on one night where everyone is together for their annual game night, one of the main character’s brother gets kidnapped and it’s basically a cat and mouse game. Just watch it, the directing is also good and you won’t be disappointed. Wait! Only thing I didn’t like was this one subplot that happens throughout the first half and it was so annoying I wanted it to stop. But that’s it. That’s my take.

I’ve been in meetings where I can feel it slipping away, where I can feel that the ideas I’m tossing out, they’re too scary or too weird, and I can feel the thing. I can tell: It’s not going to happen, I’m not going to be able to convince them to do this the way I think it should be done.
I want to jump up on the table and scream, “Do you know how lucky we are to be doing this? Do you understand that the only way to repay that karmic debt is to make something good, is to make something ambitious, something beautiful, something memorable?” But I didn’t do that. I just sat there, and I smiled.
