Ika’s Gem Master Post (Part 1)
Because I have too much time on my hands.
Since this is a long list, im putting everything under a read more. This is part one featuring Agates, Jaspers and Pearls!
Feel free to like and reblog (◕‿◕✿) ----- Note: This is a list of gems ive collected references of thus far in my Google Drive and pictures from the internet. I will update this list with new gems as much as I can. Remember, there are a ton of gems out there outside of this list! Also as a heads up, I don’t know why but my current layout messes with outside links outside of mobile app so, i advise you to Right Click > New tab on the gem you want to get to the page or photo.
Drawing Steven Universe
First, Draw a circle
Then, draw a line, and a bump
Then add a C for the ear. And the out line of the hair
Lastly, but not least draw the five or more puffs of hair
And last the neck *Little tip the neck is a different size because of his cheek.*
Okay so that's part one aka "Drawing Stevens head", his body will be coming very soon.
Steven Universe Landscapes tutorial! (sort of)
I’m by no means an expert soo follow it by your own risk ;)
1. Sketch how do you want your landscape to look like, trying to create a sense of deepness.
2. Do lineart! I try to make it thin, but that really depends on how are you most comfortable with. I use @gemcrust CUSTOM BRUSHES on Paint Tool Sai!
3. Set base colors. In order to create a feeling of perspective, I recommend using more saturated and up in the color wheel colours for the foreground, and less saturated and lower on the color wheel for the background. For example, I started by using vibrant orange and reds, but on the background there are more desaturated pinks and purples.
4. Add texture! Depending on what I’m looking for I use screen, overlay or multiply layers with low opacity. Use textures to create interesting stuff, and follow natural lines, if it makes any senes (I did vertical textured lines on the mountains in order to replicate cliffs and rocky walls).
5. To finish, I added light effects on the mountains edges, to give a bit of cohesion to the whole picture.

Steven Universe skies tutorial! (sort of)
I’m by no means an expert soo follow it by your own risk ;)
1. Set base colors. I prefer a darker tone on the top and a lighter one on the bottom.
2. Add a bit of texture.Depending on what I’m looking for I use screen, overlay or multiply layers with low opacity. I use @gemcrust CUSTOM BRUSHES on Paint Tool Sai!
3. Add the clouds. Try to add a bit of shade that matches with the sky, and also I blur the top of the clouds, to make them less hard-edged.
3. Add the sun or moon, if you want to!
4. Add a surrounding light to it, using airbrush and a luminosity layer.
5. Add more textures, same as before but more noticeable!
7. Add thin light strokes, with luminosity layer, to create the feeling of light I guess, it’s just part of the Steven Universe style.
8. Add diamonds in the sky! I usually do two layers, one with a lower opacity in order to have a bit of deepness.

Steven’s cheeseburger back-pack is on the homestretch!
This backpack was made from a cheap Wal-Mart backpack (one of their $3.97 bags?) and a cheeseburger pillow available online here. I cut open the seam of one of the “buns” of the pillow, removed all the straps and zippers from the Wal-Mart backpack, and sewed the zipper and straps into the bun. It’s not perfectly canon but... it’s more affordable than some of the custom options Good luck, Crystal Gems! If you have any questions on this or Steven/ Rose’s shield, please send me an ask. :-D
