So I finished watching Steven Universe and Steven Universe: Future.

Holy fucking shit. How am I so LATE TO THIS FANDOM AND THE SHOW 😭🙏. Of course I already knew about the plot twists before going into it but I can just imagine myself freaking out of I went in completely blind and I still freaked out!

Also the scenes that made me cry/uncomfortable (which just me in my eyes that they were super well written)

The episode of Steven's dad getting kidnapped and he and the gang went light speed and Steven was trying to disable the light speed travel. Him crying about how much he wants his dad generally hurt my fucking heart. I love my own father to death and go to him for nearly everything (I actually want trying to call him this morning but he's a nurse so he can be busy 😔). And child crying/begging makes me sad and uncomfortable, that's just something I never want to hear a child cry, in such a desperate tone.

And the second to last episode when the diamonds and gang saved Steven. Where he was sitting in the middle of the ocean and just crying with everyone he loved surrounded him. That made me actually cry. They just all watched with a smile as he cried, it's okay to let everything out sometimes especially when the people who support you are all around you

Steven Universe had a bigger impact on my life than I really thought - and since future played out, hitting closer and closer to home, it broke my heart seeing myself in these characters- and only now? As it’s over???

I grew up with this show, I was 13 when it released- o remember watching the pilot and all the wacky early episodes,, and then here we are,, god I’m gonna miss this show- truly there isn’t going to be anything like it ;;;
