THIS ISSUE ENDS BY TAKING OUT MY HEART AND FRICKING SHATTERING IT

First off, yes, Eggman has Sonic distracted so that he can handle Sally and kill her off-screen. THEN he initiates his master-plan that’s been built up for so long, Operation: Clean Sweep. Remember, he thought of this plan during his time when he reasoned himself from insanity. And the kicker? It WORKS. Whatever the Death Egg did, it uses the Chaos Emerald to send out a wave that even reaches outer space, and the entirety of Mobius is, quite literally, rewritten as everything fades to white. All colour is washed out, along with the linework soon after, while Sonic reaches out to his sweetheart.

An epic cliffhanger, if I ever saw one?!

Amy Rose and Geoffrey St, John have some really neat snarky interactions in this issue.

Before Tails breaks them into the Death Egg, Sonic and Sally have a quick Sonally moment before we get to the more intense “Final Zone” part of the comic.

Literally nobody on Mobius likes Ixis Naugus and think he’s ugly as hell. xD I mean, the old stories told us he was a fusion of like three already-ugly wizards, so I guess this reaction is justified.

Oh, frick, its Silver Sonic III...! Though he kinda looks like Sonic 3 & Knuckles’ Mecha Sonic if he was painted silver, I still like how he looks here. Sonic certainly thinks so.

Most of these pages are Sonic fighting the new Silver Sonic, but we get scenes like this for some emotional impact. Eggman mocks Sally for problems she had a hand in in the past, though they’re technically not entirely her fault. Its still nice getting callbacks to old issues, even way back in the comic’s history. Seriously, I don’t think I’ve seen the word “Overlander” since #130 or so...

Also, you know what I really like? The pages set outside the Death Egg with the Freedom Fighters have the regular white background, but INSIDE Eggman’s new base, everything that’s not a panel is shrouded in darkness. It successfully conveys that the heroes are really in a dangerous place place.

Similar to how another lackey to Dr. Eggman is feeling in the IDW Publications, Snively and Lien-Da are fricking ticked off that the good doctor enjoys setting himself up to give his arch enemy a chance to stop him.

Snively also looks so DONE with his shit. How long is he going to put up with his uncle dictator?

As I figured, Sonic and Ixis Naugus are forming a truce, and we get more good witty dialogue from Sonic!

Also if I haven’t already complimented on Tracy Yardley’s art and Matt Herms vibrant colours, I really should because goddamn do these guys look great!
