I finally did art again. Not my best, still trying to figure out how to draw him and I haven't done anything in aaaages... But I'm okay with it. :]

I've noticed that Khan from Star Trek Into Darkness and Neo look seriously similar in terms of dress sense - at least in the first movie in Neo's case - and physique, and even hair colours and styles, plus they're both highly powerful sci-fi-action men with superhuman abilities that are visually stunning to watch. It seems that I have a type when it comes to my most-loved fandom blorbos lmao, because the Matrix franchise is now my #1 fandom as of these last two years but my next-favourite movie is STID, making Khan very nearly equal to Neo for me in terms of how much I love them. 💙
I mean yeah there's the contrast of Neo being a true cinnamon roll while Khan's outwardly a lot more aloof, and Neo's the hero while Khan's an antagonist (although he does have quite a sympathetic motive and it's seen several times that he's actually not as ruthless as he seems), but the visual similarities are just something that hit me. The design of Khan's high-collared coat that he wears in his first scene even resembles Neo's Reloaded-onwards cassock!
*During the barge fight near to the end of STID*
Khan: “Now it’s time for some witty back-and-forth banter, Mr. Spock. You go first!”
Spock: *Incoherent violent screaming*
Khan: “Alright. Look, I’m not sure where to go with that!”

“Oh Captain, are you going to punch me again?” Calmly and slowly eats salad
Something I noticed when I found this gif: it’s a case of blink-and-you’ll-miss-it, but if you look closely at the moment right before Spock knocks him out, Khan looks like he’s got a couple of droplets trailing down from his left eye. In other words, it looks like he’s crying from the pain of having his arm broken and then being beaten up so viciously, which has probably been made worse by the mild injuries he sustained during the Vengeance’s crash and the understandably immense heartbreak of being led to believe that everyone he knows and loves has just been killed in the torpedo detonation and that he’s now basically the last of his kind as a result. We know that making his pain obvious to others apart from his crew isn’t his style, so that would explain why the only clear indication of his reaction to what Spock’s done to him here was when he yelled out at the moment when there was a crunch sound as his arm was broken. TL;DR: I’ve noticed that in this gif it looks like Khan is crying in the pain that’s been inflicted on him by Spock, and I just realised I’ve ended up giving myself a small burst of feels. 💔
Headcanon that Khan’s coping mechanism for stress during his year of captivity before the events of STID was to quietly hum Mr. Blue Sky to himself. Whenever he’d be feeling down about his and his sleeping crew’s situation during that year, he’d distract himself from the ensuing downwards spiral of negativity by humming said song, because back during the Eugenics Wars in the 1990s he grew to especially like it due to its lyrics reminding him of their goal to ultimately create and/or find a place where they’d be safe from being persecuted by non-enhanced humans.
STID AU where everything else is the same but during his year of captivity in which Khan designed the Vengeance for Section 31, he gets phenomenally drunk one night, in an attempt to drown his sorrows, to the point where the now giggly Augment boi staggers into his office in the late hours and, inspired by research he’d carried out on films that had been released while he was in stasis, designs the Vengeance to be black-and-yellow striped like a bee, for it to make faint buzzing noises when it moves and for it to instead be titled the USS Ya Like Jazz. And then when Marcus confronts him about this Khan blames it on a design technician whom he claims has made a run for it, but whom he has actually tracked down to his home, knocked unconscious and left in said technician’s bedroom wardrobe as part of his plan to cover up his colossal drunken misstep.
I work at a bakery so if anyone asks for a gingerbread man, it just think "Gingerbatch" "Sort those Gingerbatch in a line" "Yes those Swiss buns, a steak slice, the bloomer and that Benedict Cumberbatch staring at me with the buttons, please." "Mary, want to spilt that Gingerbatch with me?" Same goes for the cucumber for the sandwiches, "cut me a Cucumberbatch please for these rolls" "A few slices of Benedict Cucumberbatch in that salad" God dammit Benedict Cumberbatch, haunting our bakery with your ways.
