Did the writers intend to imply that Mac was in a queerplatonic polycule with Mike and Jack for a few years after college? Probably not.

Is that how it reads to someone who was in a QPP (albeit with less travel involved) after uni for a while? Yes, absolutely.

I’m 11 episodes in s2. Is the writing better. Yes. Am I having more fun? No 🙃 maybe once they explain the weird temporary level ups. But I always hate when they gimmick-ify the aliens. They’re supposed to be living breathing beings with home worlds and cultures. Plus they already are the gimmick! They did this in UA and OV and I always hated it. It’s worse here for me because it doesn’t have the setup that started the little upgrades they just happen and I’m being expected to role with it while characters question nothing. But I’m thinking this episode will clear stuff up

The Ministry had changed.

Draco had last visited during the summer before fourth year. His father had stopped by, Draco in tow, to visit a few choice contacts in the Department of Magical Games and Sports. “My son, Draco,” he’d said to innumerable people, and Draco had smiled and shaken hands while his father told them that he flew for Slytherin, and eventually—what a coincidence!—Cornelius Fudge happened to look in on Ludo Bagman at the same moment they were visiting with him.

They’d left that day with tickets to the Top Box tucked into his father’s robes. Draco remembered swaggering through the large, light-filled Atrium at his father’s shoulder, feeling that every door was open to him. He’d flipped a Galleon over his shoulder into the Fountain of Magical Brethren as he’d gone.

Now the Fountain was gone, and the center of the Atrium boasted an enormous statue of black stone: a witch and wizard perched on twin thrones.

Whenever I listen to Lover I have a couple of moments of genuine laugh out loud laughter that even with kk getting “married” twice and Toe still being a thing, somehow kaylor is as strong as ever and the fandom has even gotten bigger. It’s really mind boggling and so unexpected.
