I think Steviepop is really cute! It's a combination of two of my fav Steve ships, what's there not to like? I could probably come up with some headcanons about them too if you're interested!

+ They help each other with their hair, or the girls do..

+ Cherry helps Sylvia bleach her hair, and Sylvia teaches herself to maintain curls so she can help Cherry

Trans Dallas is SO near and dear to my heart, I love him/her/them/it/etc!!

Trans Dallas in general is the epitome of toxic masculinity. He plays up his "tough hood" persona, dresses and acts as manly as he can, because he's so scared of people finding out.

Dally's biggest fear with Cherry and Sylvia is 1) them leaving him and 2) them telling people their secret.

Transmasc Dallas is less upset about Sylvia and Cherry knowing. At first, he's scared of them thinking he's not enough of a man or that he can't protect them. He's also pretty insecure about them seeing his body, but that's an issue Dally has no matter if he's trans or not. I think Sylvia always knew, to be honest? She either walked in on Dallas changing, or connected the dots while they were together.

Cherry might struggle to understand, but Sylvia is so blunt about it and answers the questions Dallas is too embarrassed to. (I imagine Sylvia does a ton of research on being trans when she first finds out, my sweet girl :[ ). They're always reassuring Dally's identity and making sure he knows they adore him, no matter his parts.

Transfem Dallas? Oh she freaks the fuck out if anyone finds out, especially her girls. She's the Dallas Winston. She can't have anyone finding out she's a sissy or something. I imagine, unlike Steve/Stella, Dallas never explores her feelings, she just beats them down until they go away (spoiler alert: they don't).

I think once Dallas finally gives in and steals a stupid skirt or something, she is immediately caught by Cherry and Sylvia. For the first time ever in her life, since she was too little to even remember, Dallas breaks down in pure terror. She literally falls to her knees, sobbing hysterically.

Once the girls get her to choke out what she feels, they have to calm her down and reassure her that they still love her. Well, Cherry says all that, probably while holding Dallas. Meanwhile, Sylvia tells her to stop being a pussy about shit that doesn't matter.

They encourage her to explore her femininity, buy her more clothes, help her style herself, etc. They also encourage her to actually come out, if just to the gang. Once again, they're very reassuring and always affirming her identity.

In the 60s, trans men were pretty much invisible, they flew under the radar and weren't really recognized even in the LGBT movement. They struggled a lot to get the same recognition and even respect that trans women got. While trans women had more access to gender-affirming care, trans men were treated as if they were mentally ill and medical professionals were way less likely to perform surgeries on them.

On the other hand, trans women were more commonly in the public eye with transfem magazines, newspapers, and in general a stronger sense of community. They even had semi-famous celebrities in the public eye bringing awareness to transfem issues (like Christine Jorgensen). They were also the leaders of the Stonewalls riots and the ones that sparked the LGBT rights movement in the late 60s.

Unfortunately, trans women also faced much greater rates of violence and abuse, both physical and sexual. Many of them lived in intense poverty, suffered homelessness, and found most of their income through sex work. (These trans sex workers are the historical backbone of the trans community, but I digress).

It was easier for trans men to fly under the radar and pass without a fuss, but trans women struggled to fit into the constraints of the feminine identity. Thus, trans women couldn't really "pass" and their transitions were much more public.

Basically: Shit sucked for everyone, and nobody wins.
