well all things considered, there really weren't any nightwatch deaths aside from one, the closest to a death being Jeremy from FNAF2, but he just lost his frontal lobe to the bite of 87, assumedly. In the first Five Nights, with information from the second game, Phone guy was the only other night watch, and he WAS killed. There were no deaths in the second game, as the nightwatch before you was just moved to first shift, and the kids weren't haunting the animatronics until after the second game
You make a good point, anon! But discounting the purple man’s death, at a minimum we’re looking at two deaths. One for Phone Guy, and at least one more before he died because PG did explain how you’re going to be killed if you are caught. And he couldn’t have known that unless it has already happened at least once.
We also don’t know if someone else after Mike Schmidt eventually ended up dying, or how many guards there were between Phone Guy and Mike (PG was the only other known night watchman). But consider the fact that you die if you get a game-over just once (except possibly with Golden Freddy), then connect that to how difficult the games are (and we just have to go through ten minutes per night, as opposed to an actual six hours of flipping through cameras), and you’ll see how difficult it is to actually survive. I think the guards we play as (Mike, Jeremy and Fritz) - the ones who make it out alive - happen to be the exception, not the norm.
But it’s all beside the point. Whether the kids killed just one guard or many, the purple man is not the only murderer in the story. They’re villains all the same, as far as I can tell. We just happen to overlook that the kids were killers too.
