in lieu of the 17776 resurgence id like to remind everyone that nine and ten are siblings and to gtfo if you ship them. thanks
an extremely specific experience after reading 17776 and 20020
having 17776/20020 as my highest (media focused) special interest is extremely alienating because it's hard enough getting someone to read the first installment and even harder for them to find something to like about it to read the second one and want to keep talking about it after the fact. it's niche as niche can be. not many people think about if satellites were sapient and had feelings and could talk. no one really thinks about all these "what-if" situations which the series proposes, what if people stopped aging and dying, what if money didn't matter anymore, etc.
and in the rare event that i find someone who *does* like '76, they're not obsessed with it in a life-changing way like i am. it didn't awaken a dormant special interest about space that made them question their direction in life at the tail end of college which eventually led to an autism diagnosis almost 2 years later. it didn't change the way they think about spacecraft or the way they can get "injured" or "sick" or "die" as if they're alive. it didn't make them care that their university's football team finally made it to the conference plays after decades and still don't know what that means.
yet at the same time i do Not want this series to gain a large fandom. idk if that's selfish to want but the thought of 17776/20020 getting mass attention is terrifying to me.
"please perceive me but don't perceive me" type of thing
shes so cute
i know that when ten met juice she haaaaaaated him. it's been 17600 years. he's your bestie. let it go
FIFTY THOUSAND SEVEN
FIFTY THOUSAND SEVEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
thinking ab if i got into the 17776 fandom in 2017 that meant i wouldve made incredibly basic human designs of all the probes and made either nine or juice a twenty one pilots fan.
17776 is the pinnacle of media for nonbinary people with object names
juice would get a kick out of 2020s humor even if he doesnt know what it means. anything that annoys ten and gets nine curious is already good enough on its own
