Day 20- Process Sometimes I start from sketches but more often than not I just dive right in and begin constructing what I see in my head. It's easier for me to just make what I see than it is to convert that idea it to a 2D image on paper. And sometimes I don't really know exactly what the finished piece is going to look like and just have a basic idea that develops through the creation process. Day 2: How I Started I got my start making jewelry in this building, while studying art at @ecusoad. I didn't plan to study metal design but signed up for a class after one of my professors suggested I give it a try. Day 1: Favorite To Make I missed this last year but enjoyed seeing everyone else's posts so much, so I'm going to give it my best go for 2019. I love making things and I love working metal, so it is really hard to choose a favorite, but if I have to narrow it down to one, it's probably these Linear Steel & Gold Cuffs. I let the shape of uncoiled steel direct the exact design of each one so it's a very unstructured process that I find incredibly cathartic. I love that each piece is different, each has it's own voice, they look delicate but are actually quite strong, the wires twist and turn as they wind around the wrist, they come together for a bit and then diverge again, the beauty lies in the simplicity.
