This song is called Stomach Worm by Stereolab.  It's hard for me to single this one song out because the album this song comes from, Peng!, is all around perfect--definitely one of my favorites of all time.  This song is the second to last track on the album and more upbeat and fast-paced than some of the other tracks, creating a climax, if you will, before the album comes to an end.  The song follows a call-and-response type pattern--lead singer Lætitia Sadier's claims about suffering and the world's "indisputables" are bolstered and clarified by the background vocalist's lyrics.  The last line of the song is "jealousy will make you suffer (from being "crazy from being a woman"), which I believe recapitulates the main idea of the song--that there are certain indisputable truths in the world that we cannot change, but there are also "truths" that people perceive as indisputable but are actually stereotypical.  The first part of the lyrics I quoted states one of these indisputable truths: that jealousy makes us suffer.  I think we can all agree that this is true.  But the background lyrics in quotation marks serve to mock and debunk the notion that women are more jealous, and therefore crazier, than men.  Indeed the first line is true-that jealousy is often the cause of suffering, but who is to say that women are more jealous than men?  Sadier's strong and meaningful lyrics are one of the principle reasons I love Stereolab so much.  Lætitia's strength as a woman is further reinforced, in many of Stereolab's songs, by the blend of her soft voice with raw rock 'n roll music, which seems to announce to the world "I can be womanly and be the lead singer of a major rock 'n roll band."  By now it's probably clear that I'm completely infatuated by strong female musicians.  I think it's important that we acknowledge these women because they have made some of the most important advancements in music.  Enjoy this song and also listen to the rest of the album! I promise it'll be worth it.
