i'm on a stranger things kick even though the show has ended, i'm out rewriting shit in a notebook and i wanna share (it's a lot so be prepared)

it's characters rewritten with scars/disabilities (some canon, some are headcanons)

Will Byers

• Season 2: During possessions by the Mind Flayer, his scars flare with excruciating pain. The lab's heated exorcism adds fresh burn marks as particles are forced out.

• Season 3: The sensitized scars make him hyper-aware of the Mind Flayer's presence, triggering body-wide agony during visions that leave him drained and bedridden for days.

• Season 4: The connection deepens; his clouded eye deteriorates further, forcing him to adapt to partial blindness on one side.

• Season 5: Scars now blanket his body entirely. His powers fully awaken—he gains telekinesis over hive creatures and acute sensing of Vecna—but the strain accelerates his vision loss. In the finale, after a desperate push to control the hive against Vecna, his clouded eye goes completely blind. Will survives as a powerful but haunted seer, one eye forever lost to the darkness he once escaped.

Jane Hopper

• Season 1: Chronic migraines begin immediately from early power use. Faint surgical scars ring her shaved head from lab experiments. Overuse causes nosebleeds, hand tremors, and partial deafness in one ear after the Demogorgon fight at the school.

• Season 2: Reuniting with Kali and closing the gate worsens everything—migraines become debilitating, deafness in one ear becomes permanent, minor seizures follow big exertions, and stress triggers selective mutism (communicating via signs, writing, or gestures).

• Season 3: A Mind Flayer chunk embeds in her leg, leading to infection and eventual below-knee amputation after failed treatments. Phantom pain haunts the jagged scar. Migraines intensify; seizures grow frequent.

• Season 4: Temporary power loss and regain strain her further. Brenner shaves her head again, exposing old scars. Tremors worsen; mutism episodes last days.

• Season 5: Fitted with a prosthetic leg (provided by Brenner but decorated rebelliously by the group with stickers, paint, and patches), she fights on crutches when needed. Chronic migraines evolve into near-constant pain; post-battle seizures leave her temporarily mute again, recovering slowly as the group rallies around her signed words and determined spirit.

Hopper

• Season 3: The mall explosion "kills" him (secret survival), but leaves severe burn scarring on arms, torso, and face.

• Season 4: Alive but broken—Russian torture adds whip lashes, knife wounds, and overlapping burns. His leg heals improperly, forcing a permanent limp.

• Season 5: A gunshot wound compounds the leg damage; he relies on a cane on bad days, grumbling but pushing through pain to protect his family.

Eddie Munson (yes eddie survives in my version 😁)

• Season 4: Barely survives the demobat swarm—extensive bite and tear scars cover arms, chest, and back. His name cleared, he rocks tank tops proudly in summer, owning his "freak" marks.

• Season 5: Stays back with Max, coordinating comms and support. His scars ache in cold weather, a reminder of his sacrifice-that-wasn't.

Max Mayfield

• Season 4: Vecna breaks her bones and blinds her; she falls into a coma but survives.

• Season 5: Wheelchair-bound and permanently blind, Max becomes the group's sharp-witted communicator hub—relaying plans, cracking codes, and bantering via touch or voice with Eddie by her side. Her resilience shines, turning disability into quiet strength.

Steve Harrington

• Season 4: Demobat attacks leave ragged scars on torso and neck. Cumulative head trauma (Jonathan S1, Billy S2, Russians S3) causes permanent hearing loss in one ear.

• Season 5: Hard of hearing, battles become chaotic—he mishears orders, yells "What?!" mid-fight, but adapts with hand signals and sheer determination, swinging his bat harder than ever.

Season 5: In a brutal demogorgon clash shielding the kids, he takes a deep chest slash—survives with a massive, jagged scar that pulls during movement, a badge of protection.

Karen Wheeler

Season 5: During a demogorgon home invasion, she shields Holly and endures deep claw marks across chest and arms. She survives, scars hidden under clothes but a fierce reminder of her hidden bravery.

STRANGER THINGS FINALE SPOILERS

i'm probably gonna get shit on for liking the finale even tho byler didn't happen BUT i liked the finale even tho byler unfortunately didn't happen so here are my thoughts on the ending 😺

- stonathan crumbs made me giggle

- what were dustin and steve stabbing on the big mind flayer thing..... eugh

- joyce chopping vecna's head off while everyone watched with hatred for vecna hell yes

- as much as i dislike mileven, i gotta say the scene w all of them screaming for el while "purple rain" played in the background made me cry so bad (prince mentioned tho peak song)

- the fact that it ends w their graduation is so special to me cuz i remember VIVIDLY when this show came out and i was so scared of the trailers cuz i was a pussy when i was younger and now here i am in nearly the same boat as them - i graduate high school in just about 5 months 🥹

- DUSTIN'S SPEECH !!! THAT'S MY BADASS SON RIGHT THERE

- crazy how the ship wars ended in both sides losing for both byler/mileven and jancy/stancy

- nancy and momma wheeler have matching haircuts and both of them look stunning hell yeah
