The Danaides
Artist John William Waterhouse (English, 1849-1917)
Date: 1906
Medium: Oil on canvas
Collection: Aberdeen Art Gallery, Aberdeen, Scotland
Description
Painting illustrating the Greek mythological story of the fifty daughters of King Danaus, who were condemned to fill a leaking, or bottomless, vessel with water in Hades for killing their husbands on their wedding night.
Le Printemps (Springtime) by Eugène Bidau
Little dragon sketch, in the Cristal Bic pen that I hate (too big a nib, clumpy ink)
Imagining that the dragon is the same colour as the stones-grey with patches of green, white, etc to look like moss/lichen/etc. So it's hard to tell if it's a statue or not
