Last night we tucked into our first take-away since before lockdown began - fish n’ chips. I’m not sure if it was the significance of the occasion but wow, did they ever taste good? And no queuing to get them either, so bonus! Talking of chips, (ha ha!), I’ve been wanting to work with labradorite chips for a while now as I had in mind a dainty stone stack necklace. These were so lovely to work with as they seem to flash rainbows from all angles. It’s a petite pendant brimming with heaps of magical detail. . . . #labradorite #labradoritestack #stacknecklace #stonestacknecklace #stonestack #rainbownecklace #labradoritejewelry #petitejewelry #februarybirthstone #marchbirthstone #labradorescence (at Harrowby, Lincolnshire) https://www.instagram.com/p/CCoYcjyhiiO/?igshid=e9m19grizczh

"The origins of stone stacks are older than, well….dirt." -Molly Jo Triplett
Have you ever been on a long hike and come across a stone stack?
Maybe you felt a bit of magic and mystery as you examined the natural tower, wondering who balanced it, and why.

"Cairns" in the Scottish Gaelic is defined as, “Man-made stacks of stones,” and they can be found in countries across the planet. Stone stacks can range from the size of a hill, on down to little river rock formations.
Stacking rocks has been associated with mindfulness as a practice with many purposes & applications.
© Moritz Bechert on Pixabay STACKING MEDITATIVE RITUALS & HONORINGS Grab some large stones or rocks on your property or on a hike and give one of these a chance to balance: 1. Placing each stone can be used as a ritual of contemplative prayer 2. Each can be placed in gratitude for what presently arises in your mind 3. You can place a stack outside overnight on the full moon to intentionally release all that is no longer needed (Each stone may represent one situation, habit or thing that you wish to release.) 4. On the New Moon, you may create a stack; allowing each stone to be up to 10 creations with wishes for the month to come 5. A stack can represent a loss. It can be a way to spend time honoring a loved one or animal who has passed 6. A stack on a long hike can be a natural wonder to leave as an inspiration for others to behold on their journeys.

Stone stacking. This is the harbour at the estuary of the river Tyne. A little lighthouse is at the end of each wall. Both walls are worth walking. This is one of my favourite places to go. Especially when my head is unclear. I built a stack today during 90 minutes of sitting and wandering on the rocks. A time of peace on a cold day. For a while my mind quietened. The voices and influences in this dissociative disorder faded. I saw one person. A man who was disappointed that I wasn't the actual stone stack woman of Tynemouth and that his favourite photo, of a stone arch on those rocks, was on his other phone. My stack will have gone now, reclaimed by the tide. The memory remains. #stone #stonestacking #rocks #rockstack #stonestack #peace #coast #sea #coastview #seaside #favourite #peaceful #meditation #Tyne #Tynemouth #harbour #coldday #bestplace #stack #beauty #lighthouse #restful #awesome #peace #peaceofmind #mentalhealth #dissociativeidentitydisorder #dissociation #quiet #rivertyne (at Tynemouth) https://www.instagram.com/p/BrQz1RhhFf2/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=8nu6ddtkrpzv
