That indent to the right of the headstone is the resting place of my great aunt, Mary Elizabeth Longdon. She passed away in 1923, aged 18, of "Derbyshire Neck", also known as goitre.

Aldercar cemetery has a real lack of markers and headstones, but with a map, some spare time and having learned how to properly "pace a grave" I think we found her.

And so my project to piece together the all but forgotten hamlet of Stoneyford, because it barely exists on record anymore.
