#stop conforming

I am so tired of hearing others say that you shouldn't cross oceans for people. But you know what? You should! If you profess Christ, you have to love your neighbor as yourself (Mark 12:31). Love people when they least deserve it, because Christ loves you even though you don't deserve it. If you profess to know God, but don't love others, you don't really know Him; because He IS love (1 John 4:8). Show God's grace and love if you know Him. Stop conforming to this selfish world.

Conformity

I watched one of my all time favorite movies today called the Dead Poets Society. There was a part about whether the boys would conform or would they strike out on their own paths. By focusing on this notion I started wondering if people conform in their spirituality or if they choose to blaze a new trail. At times I think tradition and knowing are our safe havens that we try to stay in. We are afraid at times of what others are going to say or that our practices are invalid because they aren’t like anyone else’s. Here is something I have experience and learned take what practices you see someone else is doing but instead of doing them the same way adjust it to work for you. Not everything is going to work for you and it takes time to find the areas that will fit you. I know out there is a lot of authors to books people say to stay away from but here is a thing how are you going to know what resources to stay away from unless you have read the material. Read and make your own choice whether a resource is good or is something that just seems off to you. When it comes to altars unless you follow a certain path that gives the setup, you can create it however you want to because the best ones are the ones that contain items that have meaning to you. Lastly push your boundaries so you can experience the various parts of spirituality to learn about yourself to forge that new path.

Small world after all

Why can we stand out

why must i fit the norm --

the age in society

where everyone expects

everything from you,

when you've barely got it together. 

we have to be

composed and stand like

because we have to be like

everyone else.

Is it weird that i don't get why blogs have to have one constant them? That's boring. I like not having a set theme. I reblog and post how ever the fuck I feel. It's YOUR blog. Do want you want.

The pressure of society we experience is caused by us. It can only dissipate when we stop pushing ourselves to live up to its standards.
