Believe it or not, straight people do not have to conform to gender stereotypes if it makes them uncomfortable.
That being said, straight women can have short hair, not wear makeup and not wear revealing clothing and straight men can have long hair, shave and even wear makeup if they want to.
Today’s thought!
Why do people have to “label” everything and everyone?!
We reduce certain people to a single characteristics without seeing other qualities. Bruh. No one is one dimensional.
Assigning someone with a label based on something they said or did (or even unnecessarily nowadays) is similar to putting yourself in a box and avoiding confrontation. This shows your close mindedness & fear of disagreement. Next, you cut off from them. And that’s the end of the story.... but just for you, not them.
Do you know what’s the impact of your labelling-game on the other person? Do you.. do you even?? Some of them end up bearing those ridiclous labels and becoming one, even though s/he never was like that before.
That’s a sad thing. A very, very sad thing indeed!
It’s time we change our perspective about gender-based stereotypes. Love should NEVER depend on the gender of people. You should be PROUD to love whoever and not be ashamed of it. Love comes in so many forms. It’s a complicated, but beautiful thing.
i don’t get why we judge people based on their race, religion or ethnicity whenever they do something bad, and categorize their ‘group’ as bad. can’t we just blame it on the individual???
Don't label me.
Hey guys, guess what? Pretty sure not all black people are bad. Last time I checked, not all white people are racist. I seriously doubt that every Mexican in America is illegal. I really don't think that "all Muslims are bad". Stereotypes are assumptions based on appearance. Stop labelling, stop judging. Get to know someone before you open your mouth.
All my life, I’ve had multiple people (friends, their parents, strangers, etc.) tell me “Oh wow! I thought you were gay!” When I tell them I’m straight. At first, it was a pure insult. I felt like I needed to change every aspect of my daily life just so others didn’t think I was “gay” but after years of maturing and getting the same responses from different people, I realized that it didn’t matter what others thought of me at first because it doesn’t define me. What does bother me is the fact that they say this, but “love gay people” and “my best friend is gay, it’s okay.” No, if it was okay you wouldn’t have pointed it out not knowing who I really am. This is why society is messed up. This is why “coming out” is still a thing. One day, I hope someone doesn’t have to “come out” and can just be gay with it being a natural thing. Stop labeling and start opening your mind.
