So this is something I wanted to say for a long time, but today is the day, I guess. So, since I was 13 (I'm nearly 20 now) I have been catcalled. When I was smaller, it scared me a lot. I thought the men yelling those things at me would actually come and assault me and I was terrified to go to public places. Now that I am older, I just find it gross and offensive. Apparently, most catcallers believe they are "making a compliment". So I have an idea: All men, who do not do this terrible thing, listen. I hope this reaches a lot of you. When you see or hear someone yelling those things to women, catcall the doer. Just go for it. Tell him you like his legs, or that you believe he would be so cute looking up from your crotch, whatever. Since most catcallers think women who get offended are bitches and won't stop, make them stop. They are horrified from the idea of someone thinking they are gay. Help us women and girls. Think of it as coming of aid to someone's sister, daughter or mother. Do it. And when you do, please reblog this with what happened so you can inspire more men to do so and help us women realise we are not the problem. Tell your guy friends to do so too. Just stand up for all your female friends and family. Catcall the shit out of catcallers!!!
