One of the most difficult things to practice in the yoga path, is the practice of resting. We live in a world where being busy glorifies you. We learn that we have to “do” all the time, but we forget to just “be”. When we are diving in this immense and turbulent ocean where we have to achieve so many huts and roles, where we have to be so “good” and “skillful”, we cannot really perceive the agitation, because we are part of it. It is only when we step out of the caos that we can see the waves and the currents. For me, it has been so difficult to learn to rest, to do nothing, to just “be”. Changing the mindset of “achieving” to “being” is a longer journey that it is to just writing it or saying it. Learning to recognize when the body needs to rest, which is different from laziness or dullness, has being a process of hitting myself over and over again against the same rock, and maybe I will still hit that rock many times more. We are taught to follow recipes, we follow rules of systems, religions, cultures, gurus, traditions, but we are not taught how to listen to our own body, how to follow our own rules, the ones that are dictated by our uniqueness, we are not taught to listen to our intuition. That is something we have to decide to learn by ourselves. 📷photo by @fotosbyboca #rest #justbe #stoptheglorificationofbusy #suptabaddhakonasana #restorativeyoga #listentoyourbody #mindfullife #consciousliving #iinhealthcoach #yogaisequanimity #luanafarayoga (at Balance Yoga Studio)
