Starsworn on Yes Indie'd Pod!

Yes Indie'd is a mainstay of the indie RPG scene, and it was an absolute honor to be interviewed by Marx Shepard (a lovely person and brilliant designer) about Starsworn, which has only 4 days left to go (and only two stretch goals that have yet to be unlocked!). I'm a teacher who designs games that teach, and teaches kids to fall in love with writing with games. Starsworn is a zero-prep, play to learn home version of the game I use to teach, complete with coloring book illustrations, read-alouds, characters, and tools to help players of all ages tell wondrous tales together. It funded in under 30 minutes, and is scheduled to ship in time to arrive in backers homes before the holiday break this year.

So normally in class we spend about an hour reading aloud, celebrating, and discussing how the stories shape our lore and the direction of the plot, then an hour in game, playing as their characters, pushing the story.

But the moments I KNOW the kids HAVE it - that they've become an independent writing group with a powerful shared project?

We spend the entire two hours reading and shaping lore, and I have to make one of the kids host so they can stay on Zoom working together!
