With a traditional minimalistic Japanese design, our Tanuka kitchen utility bento bag set in assorted sizes  is made using light weight muslin unbleached indigenous ‘Kala’ cotton which is an old world cotton variety from Kachchh, Gujarat, India.  Kala cotton is by nature sustainable and organic, being cultivated without the use of pesticides and synthetic fertilizers. It is a purely rain fed crop which has a high tolerance for both diseases and pests.

One thing I have learned this year is that leeks can last for a long time if stored properly. 

This was only the second year we had them in the garden, my dad has always been adamant leeks do not grow in our region, but I wanted to try anyway. Ended up with so many, I thought for sure a lot of them would go in the compost pile, but they’re as green as ever and we’re still eating them in February.
