Are there any ponies in charge of the beach at Cloverly? How do they take care of it?

I’m still working out the details of exactly... Who is in charge of Cloverly? Who keeps it all running so smoothly? Who makes the laws that are somehow working for such a diverse town? I need to figure out what huge flaws are in this society and how it works and breaks.

For now I’m guessing it’s all done via volunteer work of council members of Cloverly who have just been living there the longest since the town’s founding. It’s only a vague guess tho so it might change.

Now the bigger force-role that has been recently introduced is the Weather Academy. Originally it was just to train more weather patrol ponies to shoo back the wild woods that surrounds Cloverly’s access to the main land. But the more they studied the more the Weather Academy Rangers were needed for ALL sorts of situations. We briefly discussed it in this post a pinch.

All we know for sure is that Storm Thrasher is a leading force/teacher in W.A.R. (Weather Academy Rangers). Other characters who are a part of WAR:

Cinders (Part Time Wilderness Teacher)

Duskhour (Recent Graduate.)

Divide (Sophomore Student)

Cotton Crush (Freshmen Student)

So far I’m kinda hinting towards a self-sustaining society of idealism caused by rainbow ponies. So WAR is made up of volunteers, same as the council/care takers of cloverly. It’s just ponies or other species who want to give their aid to cloverly to keep it a safe and happy place for anypony to stop and rest in.

NOW FOR THE BEACH - I think it’s a branch of the city council who handles mostly the docks, ships, and trades. WAR ponies are pretty much aid-ponies like police but less about arresting more peace keeping and helping with casual society. A lot of the grunt work for WAR students is cleaning up the beach, taming clouds, helping farmers, and lots more I’m sure when they’re not running routines and mandatory studies on the wild woods/creatures/yaddaya.

Which characters most likely have their own personal domesticated cockatrice? As livestock or a pet?

Let me think here... Gotta run through my list and figure out if their homes would be suitable + would they make time to take care of a pet I didn’t have previously planned for them?

Bud / Bud’s family since he still lives at home: Yes! Absolutely. I bet they actually keep the larger flocks because they are the greenhouse/gardeners of cloverly. So I bet they provide a large portion of the market’s eggs. His baby sister Pitter Patter is a pro at collecting those eggs. He’s grateful because he doesn’t enjoy it as much...

Cinders: Yes. Absolutely. Other than princess charming, Cinders is also a huge hermit and does not enjoy going into Cloverly. If I had to guess he’d have a small personal flock. Like 3 hens and a spotting rooster to protect them. He probably coos over them and loves them a lot. They are the only family he has, so I bet he treats them very well.

Harvest Tale: Def has 1 single hen that is like her familiar. It’s a part of herself and she expects her customers to treat her hen with respect. Harley doesn’t tolerate any form of animal cruelty.

Lacey: SURPRISING RIGHT? She actually adores poached eggs. She owns 3 silkie-like domesticated cockatrices. I’ll have to draw them, but she often powders them with glitter and they’re pure white so they are like adorable walking puff balls. Rather stylish. These hens are treated like indoor cats and are 100% spoiled.

Mocha, Tang, and Poppy: Def don’t have any chickens. They just pick up their stuff from the market.

Charming: Most likely due to the fact she never has money so she has a small flock of 2-3 hens and a rooster who doesn’t like her much. He was Aunty’s pet.

Smitty and Cotton: Nahhh. Too city folk for that.

Divide and Trinket: Probably yeah since they live on the skirts of town. Their dad loves pickled eggs.

Storm Thrasher: Probably not. I don’t think he’d like pets at all.

OH another headcanon.

No one in Cloverly knows Princess Charming is an alicorn - Aunty and Charming have kept it that way her whole life. Aunty made it very clear if anyone knew everyone would get hurt. She really scared charming into this secret and believes she’s protecting everyone in Cloverly by hiding it.

Storm Thrasher often visited Aunty for potions and salves for his chronic shoulder and wing pain. Now he visits Charming since Aunty is gone. He knows she’s an alicorn. Shortly after Aunty’s passing. He doesn’t investigate. He stays quiet.

Storm knows what it’s like to have to leave the past in the past. He helps keep her secret best he can. Charming has no idea he knows. She is blissfully enjoying his company when he visits and chats about how well the plants came in and what kind of watering she used to make it a little bit better than last time. Luckily for Storm it is better than the last. He’s been feeling more and more refreshed lately with Charming’s salves. He is grateful to her and secret devotes his loyalty to her.

Something he’s wanted to do ever since he was a wonderbolt.

Divide has a huuuuuuuuuuuge crush on Duskhour. She stammers and blushes when he talks to her. He just laughs it off which looks even more charming to her.

Cotton chastises and mocks her endlessly for her romantic feelings towards Dusk. He really lays it on thick like an asshole. One might think he notices one too many things about Dusk himself... At least that’s what Divide thinks.

Cotton can get too carried away in his bullying and Divide seems to get heated a little too easily. It often ends in a hoof fight that Coach has to tear apart himself.

Duskhour is the eldest of the weather school and tends to be Coach’s right hoof. He treats Divide like an younger filly and pays no mind to her blushes or smiles. He doesn’t seem to really take an interest in any filly.
