the short answer is yes, skin lightening products are racist because they exist within the context of white supremacy which idealises eurocentric standards of beauty such as light skin. (plus, the name is pretty suspect.) these products are also very dangerous and can really damage one's skin. however, in my opinion the solution is not to boycott the body shop but rather to make the people in charge aware of the racist nature of skin lightening products

have you seen no shade? it’s about a group of queer friends: three gay men and a trans woman. it’s on youtube and chescaleigh has a cameo in it.
YESSSS OH MY GOD I FORGOT I SAW THAT TOO!!!!!!! I LOOOOVED IT! I was ABSOLUTELY obsessed. Omg I need to make a feature for it! Thank you so much for reminding me, it was the besssst web series I've ever seen lmao it was perfect for me.
ROUND DEUX
(I only just saw this stormageddonboygenius but shhh) Rule 1: Always post the rules Rule 2: Answer the questions the person who tagged you asked, and write 10 new ones Rule 3: Tag 10 people and link them to the post Rule 4: Actually tell them you tagged them
1. If you’re not white you can skip this one but is it like a white people thing to keep reticulated pythons??? Is that just my neighbours? — Pretty sure that’s just your neighbours (but thinking about it I’ve only seen white people keep snakes and dangerous animals like that)
2. How much nudity did your 2013 involve? — Not a great deal :( but I did have a day in basically nothing
3. Do you carry a lunchbox? — The few places I go are willing to feed me
4. What do you think of Donatella, the best song on ARTPOP? — I…think…it’s a Lady Gaga song. I’ve gotten really out of touch with modern music; I seriously can’t do any better than that
5. What is your general opinion of reptiles on air-borne vehicles? — I’ve never been on a plane and I’ve never looked after any reptiles, but I’m gonna take a shot at it’s bad for them. But strapping on a dragon or two would probably improve any plane
6. Did you have any fucks left to give about Doctor Who after the Xmas special? — Lol nope
7. Where is my boyfriend? — Check behind the cooker
8. What time is it? — AAADVENTURE TIME!!
9. Do you need anything? Some snacks? A condom? Love ya. — A condom full of pretzels and I’m good, ta
10. Do you enjoy quiche? — Everything in moderation, kids. I mean it. EVERYTHING
And for the unfortunates who get tagged: 1. If you got super powers tomorrow, would you be a hero or a villain? 2. Who would you/will you vote for in the next election? 3. Cats and dogs never existed. What are the top two pets? 4. Let’s get boring! What size are your feet? 5. Have you any wool? 6. Gimme your best one liner! 7. What are your thoughts on Tomb Raider? 8. Ever read/seen/thought up any interesting AUs? High school and coffeeshop are out. 9. Favourite euphemism for someone’s censored bits? 10. What do you think of Welcome To Night Vale?

About post/66201585503/stormageddonboygenius-onorobo-me-literally, there is literally a black woman in the left of the comic and she is getting less room.
That's true. However, that doesn't mean the comic "leaves women of color in the lurch." In fact, it's super awesome that the artist has a woman of color in her piece! Because by her simply being there, the artist is including poc in feminist discourse! The black woman in the corner of the piece is being crowded out by the man in the middle. She's obviously uncomfortable with his close proximity. She's being included in the topic perfectly by representing the shit that women go through when men decide that they don't care about women's personal space. The artist could have depicted this other woman as white, but she chose to include a woman of color in her post. Even though she isn't the main person, she's there, which is what's important. The comic isn't just representing white people, which is fucking sweet and should happen a lot more than it does.
And again, the artist was drawing a picture of herself and her strategy for not having her personal space violated by men so it makes sense that she would be the largest aspect. The comic is all about taking back space, so it is perfectly reasonable that she takes up most of the frame.
