There's a paper on her desk. A note from her father. Her dad is on the opposite side of the table, waiting with a smile on his face and eyes crinkling at the sides. Andrea reads over the note again and again, a similar smile growing on her own face.

Stoutland nudges her elbow out of the way, and Andrea pats her head.

I've been talking to Professor Rowan, and I think I can get you started on your journey soon.

Andrea held the note to her chest, with a grin. "Really? I can get a true starter pokemon?"

"Don't insult Stoutland like that," Her dad chides, belly laughing anyway. "But yes, you can get a true starter Pokemon soon. I still need to finish up talking with Rowan, but I can make sure your journey starts soon."

She mainly remembers it because it was the life she was supposed to have. That her father cared about her, was even getting her a starter pokemon from the Professor!

She holds on tight to this last conversation she had with her dad before he started getting sick, and it festers in her.

oh baby yeah andrea has some issues

she likes pushing focus away from herself whenever possible. Whenever feeling really strong emotions like, uh, angry jealousy, she tries to take focus off of it immediately. do something else. make a shitty sandwich and make a joke.

She's supposed to belong, supposed to want something, and she doesn't, or so she feels. So she just.... exists loudly, making it seem like she does know what she's doing?

she just tries to cover it up, completely. No need to be vulnerable if you're the cool one right

She probably knows on some level it isn't good, but she just goes further into it. Might lose track of how she's really feeling. And when she gets Chi-Yu, she gets worse.

What's Andrea's favorite place to go in Paldea?

well... hmmm. honestly, the lake and the snowy mountain. Sure it's cold and sure it's just a big lake full of pokemon but it's the closest thing she had to home. places to naturally view the stars.

All other places... will be memories she makes with other people :D

Chi-Yu blinked, staring up at at the child who had complimented them. Their beads glowed slightly as they drew closer, then back up to Silva.

You are very pretty yourself, child. Chi-Yu's voice felt like an approximation of many voices, singular and yet feeling like multiple things. Despite this, Chi-Yu continued, what is a poffin? My human has spoken of this in the past.
