Buru
Buru © Matteo Bacchin. Accessed at his deviantArt page here
[It’s time for more cryptids! The buru has a dear place in my heart due to the Strange Forces series of children’s books, which had a lizardman named Rilo Buru as a supporting character. Imagine my surprise when I found out it was loosely based on a real cryptid.]
Buru CR 3 N Animal This creature resembles an elongated crocodile, with a powerful tail and tusked jaws. It is slate-blue in color, and three rows of scutes line its back and tail.
The burus are a species of large salamanders that closely resemble crocodiles. They tend to live in isolated swamps and highland valleys in regions too cool for crocodiles to comfortably inhabit. Burus are omnivores, feeding mostly on fish and freshwater invertebrates but supplementing this diet with roots and tubers. A buru’s teeth are well adapted to this mixed diet—most of its teeth are low crushing molars, but it has a pair of sharp fangs in front for piercing flesh. Unlike crocodiles, they rarely see humanoids as prey, but they are fiercely territorial.
Burus are most comfortable in the water, but are capable of moving about on land. They dwell in burrows dug into the riverbank, but in areas where burus are common some might lair in dens far from the water. Burus are not social creatures, but may gather in large groups when resources are common. Female burus tend to be larger than males, and during mating season the males move over long distances to court as many females as possible. Burus lay only a small clutch of eggs that are born as tadpoles the size of a human arm—it can take several years for the young to reach full size. During the winter, burus hibernate, curling up inside of their dens to wait out the snow and ice.
A buru weighs up to 400 pounds and grows between 12 and 15 feet long.

This fine gentleman is my inspiration for my next piece in which I attempt a lot of clowning/acting while in the air.

Cloud Michaels - "Strange Forces (Instrumental)" What a beautiful slice of psyched-out bedroom funk music? I have no idea who Cloud Michaels is, where they're from, or what they're about, but I do know they make jamming tunes. There is a cassette tape worth of music floating around on the internet somewhere as well. Find it if you can?

Decades ago when I was very young, my grandmother, Mary Kupelian, told me a haunting story I’ve wondered about ever since.

Need help finding a book series!
Hey there, everyone!
When I was younger, I enjoyed the Strange Matter and Strange Forces series by Marty M. Engle and Johnny Ray Barnes Jr. I would like to get these on my Nook, but finding them is proving to be incredibly difficult.
Does anyone know where I can find them? I'd be ecstatic if you could direct me to the unpublished extras as well (they're floating around somewhere, or so I've heard), but really, I'd be stoked for the published lineup on its own. Please?
