I'm watching Matt's Multiverse's Byler Podcast episode (RewatchRoom) and it's a significantly better experience than the Friendly Space Ninja video

They DO keep talking about how Byler wasn't obvious to the GA and would need to be more explicitly set up to be accepted and tbh I think I disagree in that this is the entire reason why Byler NEEDED to happen.

The general (straight) audience NEEDED to see a beautifully crafted gay romance sitting right under their noses.

They NEEDED to feel the need to go back and rewatch and attempt to see things through a queer lense.

They NEEDED to be exposed to something non-generic and non-hetero.

My general frustration at the moment is with people's inability to look at things through a queer lense and then acting like we're the crazy ones.

finale so bad i don’t think i can or will ever re watch the show

i re watched that show like at least 4 times in 2025 but now that i know the ending literally what is the point? it’s pretty much ruined the whole show.

watching them write characters a certain way and developing them in other ways for the gay characters to end up single and one of the main characters dead just because and the insane queerbait its just too much it over powers the whole show

even just the mind flayer how he’s so strong and so difficult to kill in the 3rd season but in the finale he’s dead in 10 minutes along with henry ?

coming back on tumblr after 3 months and just remembering the fucking feeling of post-newyears. I kid you not, I walked around my house for the next 6 days while my family went to work and school, feeling shit. literally, the same feeling i remember from my depression at 11 years old. bit overkill tbh, but at that point byler and stranger things was MY LIFE, and they didn't even just end it, they ended it like that.
