It took the moment she knew she was going to die for Max to realize she didn’t want to. 

Every night, while she lay awake in bed, too afraid to fall asleep because of the nightmares, she wished for it all to stop, for the pain to stop. But in that moment, while she lay in Lucas’s arms. Her entire body without feeling, her eyes open but unseeing, she wanted nothing more than to live. 

They tell her she fell into a coma, she doesn’t remember, she just remembers waking up. They feared that she wouldn’t be able to see but as she flickered into consciousness and opened her eyes, the world was even brighter than she’d ever remembered. 

The recovery was grueling, everyday she felt like she was crawling her way to safety, like one wrong slip and she’d be lost forever. But time took her bones and healed them. The hard part was learning to walk again. Lucas was there every step of the way. No pun intended.

He came everyday. And she stopped pushing him away and started relying on him. She knew now that that had been her mistake. She thought somehow that asking for help made her weak. That if she ignored the problems they would just go away. She’s done pushing the people who love her away. She can ask for help and still be strong. She’s ready to live.

Season final is here and also a fanart I´ve been working on for a long time ( you could say it´s been on the oven since season 4 got out, so I know, I know, a very long time ) but I´ve had tons of work to do and it was impossible to finish it earlier.

I gotta say Stranger Things it´s one of the few Netflix series I trutfully enjoyed from season one to the last, it was very well done with great suspence, horror, monsters and heartfull characters you could care about, and for that I decided it deserved one of the best fanarts I´ve done to date.

But not only that, I was able to make 3 great fanarts to celebrate the season finale, and this one is one of them.
