Just made these, they are delicious!
Day 1 in San Francisco.
Some friends and I went to Chaat in the Mission District. I was never into Indian food until I moved, Indian food is good. Here's a picture of mango and strawberry lassis .
strawberry lassi aka strawberry smoothie
lassi just sounds nicer. this weekend i bought lots of strawberries and been doing stuff with them. hooray! it was a bit warm outside so i decided to make myself a yummy strawberry beverage. sunday i tragically fucked up mango lassi (it involved spillage and being too thick... it didn't taste like this, but tar would be the right sort of consistency- i was in a rush and distracted, shush) and wanted to redeem my foolish self.
here it is then. all very basic.
first i took a carton of strawberries and sliced them. i started with about 1 and 1/2 cup of strawberries, but did later add some to adjust the consistency.
then i added about three tablespoons of almond milk to the sliced strawberries. using our handy dandy cuisinart immersion blender which i was able to get for ten dollars at a sale! (i highly suggest getting one. they are super handy and way easier to clean than proper blenders. you just pop off the immersion bit and wash.)
whirr whirr whirr!
then i add a sprinkle of cardamom, a few drops of stevia concentrate, and yogurt. the first two are pictured below but i didn't take a picture of the yogurt but i used stoneyfield's plain lowfat. you could use whatever kind you like, but personally i prefer plain since it isn't as oversweetened.
finally - yums!
i also suggest either sticking it into the fridge for a few more minutes or adding a bit of ice since it tastes best, imo, chillllll.
x cole.
