Surprise sleepover!! (docmo)
A/N - Hello again stray fandom! I'm so sorry about how late this is! I had to rewrite this almost THREE TIMES >:( (this is my first fanfic so please be nice lol)
Summary - Doc can't sleep so he goes to his friend for help and realizes just how comfortable he can get around him 😏
Momo stretched as he slowly got out of bed. The sounds of knocking were coming from his door. He clumsily put on his hat and flamingo-patterned coat, which a sleeve of partially slid off of his shoulder. He didn't bother fixing it though. "Hello..?" Momo asked sleepily as he opened the door. Doc was standing right there, looking rather stressed. Momo noticed he was twitching a little, his screen displaying a very exhausted expression, even showing physical bags under his eyes. "Hey..." Doc replied.
"Oh my... are you alright? You don't look so well.." Momo voiced worriedly. "I uh.." Doc started. His eyes flicked around as he struggled to find words. "I can't sleep..." Doc's tired tone started becoming more of an anxious one. "I-In fact...I.. haven't really been able to for a while now.." Momo gave his friend a comforting look. He wasn't exactly the best at calming people down, but he would still try. "Well, here.. how about you come inside?" he offered politely. "You can stay here for the night if you want."
Doc nodded his head. "T-that'd be... nice.. thank you.." He then walked into Momo's flat and shakily let himself sit on his couch. Momo didn't sit down yet. "So uh... can I get you anything?" he asked. "Would you like... maybe a blanket? I can tell that you're pretty shaken up." Doc thought about it for a few seconds.
"..I'd... like that.... thank you..." he said quietly. Momo nodded and smiled. "No problem! I'll be right back." Doc sat there waiting as he started to fidget a little. Momo then returned with a blanket in his hands. "Here you go!" he said as he handed Doc the blanket. Doc took it and wrapped it around his body. His shaking was less intense now. He let out a small sigh. Momo yawned and sat with him on the couch. Doc gave him a small smile.
Momo smiled back as he noted how cozy Doc looked, all wrapped up in his blanket. He was definitely a lot calmer now thanks to his friend's presence. "You're so sweet.." Doc murmured. Momo blushed a tiny bit in response. "Heh... thanks.." The two companions sat in silence for a bit before Momo spoke up. "So, why is it you've been having trouble sleeping again?" Doc paused for a split second to think.
"I don't really know... I think I'm still just getting used to living in the Slums again." Momo nodded, finding that reason to be very likely. "Oh, I see.. well, hopefully staying here tonight will help.." Momo leaned back a bit, the sleeve of his coat falling off further.
Doc glanced over at Momo, noticing his exposed shoulder. "Here," he said, leaning over. He grabbed the sleeve and slid it back over Momo's shoulder. "There we go!"
Momo froze up for a split second, his fans were all of a sudden going much faster than they were initially. Doc laughed as he looked at Momo's flustered face, finding it quite endearing. "I-I... thank you..?" he stuttered out. Doc smirked at him. Momo looked away from his gaze. "A-anways, so.. you can sleep in my bed for tonight if you want. I'll take the couch."
Doc was surprised and confused. "What? Wait.. really?" Momo chuckled. "Of course! I want you to be as comfortable as possible!" Doc looked flattered by Momo's kindness, but he still shook his head. "No... you're too sweet.. I refuse." He really just wanted Momo's company..
"What? But why??" Momo's voice came out as almost whiney, adorably so. Doc smiled tiredly at him. "It's your flat. You should take the bed. I'll be fine on the couch, don't you worry." Momo sighed. "Well then, I suppose that I'll be sleeping on the couch with you. Is that what you want?"
Doc nodded happily. It was almost as if Momo was reading his mind. "Really? Oh, thank you!!" He joyfully embraced him, letting out a few happy beeps. Momo laughed despite his flusteredness, hugging Doc back. He pulled away from the hug after a few seconds.
He then carefully shifted a small bit closer to Doc. This was nice. They awkwardly sat in silence again before Momo began to tremble as well. He never noticed how cold it was at night. It was fairly easy for Doc to pick up on this, his eyes were fixated on his quivering hands.
Doc sighed. "Come here," he said in a pretend-annoyed voice. He opened the blanket, gesturing for Momo to get in. Momo looked so gratefully desperate at him, not hesitating for a single moment to share the blanket. "Thanks.." he almost inaudibly murmured. Doc nodded. He then began slowly inching his hand towards Momo's under the blanket. At last, their fingers intertwined. Momo didn't even react, he was just so lost in the moment.
Doc yawned and leaned his head on Momo's shoulder. He nuzzled his head against Momo's neck, which created a small spark between the two. Momo shivered at the feeling. "I love you..." Doc whispered. Momo struggled to fully process those words, but responded anyway. "I love you too.." he whispered back. Just as he said that, Doc shut off for the night. Momo made sure to hold onto his hand after he fell asleep.
"I love you..." Those words were on repeat in Momo's head. He didn't care what Doc meant by that, he was just glad he said that. He looked at Doc so lovingly as he started getting tired himself. After a few more silent minutes, Momo shut off as well.
