── .✦ Streamer!Roomate x GN!Reader
⭑.ᐟ IN WHICH you decide to take on a Roomate, someone who’d help you keep you afloat in the big city. Little did you know that he’d be a little more than you bargained for.
⭑.ᐟ WARNINGS: Somewhat slow-burn, reader used to live in the countryside (not much of an accent though), kissing…
「 ✦ 𝑨𝑵: Idrk what to put as a warning… been a while since I’ve written like this… feel free to make him any black haired character, I gave him a name cuz I wanted a placeholder. ✦ 」
You met him before his peak, before you ever knew what was coming. You never really understood what it meant either.
“A streamer…? Oh, you mean a live streamer- well, as long as you pay rent you’re fine.” You nodded your head approvingly at the man in front of you, Adrian Keely— who was your new roommate.
You were beginning to feel the weight of living in the city, everything way more expensive than you originally thought. Back in your hometown in the countryside, living someplace big, crowded, and lively was your dream. Now all you could do was worry whether you’d be able to pay next month’s rent if you bought anything but microwaveable cup noodles.
Hopefully having a roommate would help keep you afloat, living with a stranger shouldn’t be so bad.
“So you watch?” He asked from where he sat across from you at the kitchen table. Rain poured outside, which had soaked his tousled black hair. He took a sip of the coffee you offered him.
You shook your head, “Don’t got time, and I’m not that into social media,”
Adrian looked visibly hurt hearing that, “You don’t watch YouTube? No instagram or TikTok?” When you shook your head no, he sighed, “Well that’s rare.”
You stood up, checking the time on your watch before looking back up at him. “Just text me if you need anything, I’ll try to respond quickly,”
He nodded, “Thanks,”
You worked late today, overtime. Your boss had dumped an extra work load, something he liked doing often to you and your co-workers. By the time you got back home, tired and ready for a late dinner, it was already 9 pm.
Click.
The sound of your door unlocking. You pulled the keys out of the lock, pushing open the door to your apartment. The lights were off, dark figures that resembled your furniture invaded your vision. A small crack of light came from the doorway of Adrian’s room. You took off your shoes, placing them on the shoe rack near the door.
“DAMMIT!”
Bang!
“What the hell was that? Did he stub his toe?” You murmured to yourself, the bang had sounded like he slammed his hand against something. You shook it off as a one time thing, changing into your night clothes.
Another slam, then another, and another.
You laid there in your bed, the thin walls of your apartment did nothing to muffle the sounds of his laughter. Silently you prayed to whoever was up there that he wouldn’t stream that often.
Everyday.
Every goddamn day he streamed. He began around 8 pm, then ended at 1 am. For 3 weeks straight you endured it, eventually lulling into a short-winded sleep. On your days off, you’d see him disappear into his room for hours— “recording a video” was what he said. During that time, you could still hear him through the walls—loud bouts of laughter or rage. It wasn’t that he did it on purpose, he was just very… dense, or oblivious.
“Woah… you okay?” Adrian leaned in, eyeing your eye bags from where he stood near the fridge.
“Totally,” Today, you decided, would be the day you would confront him about his late-night streaming.
“You want me to make you some coffee?” He offered, you waved him off, “It’s alright,”
You reached above you, opening the cabinet where the mugs were. The cold ceramic of the cup jolted your skin when suddenly it slipped out of your grip. It tilted over the edge, ready to shatter onto the counter. Before you could catch it, a different hand came into view to snatch it.
“You sure?” Adrian mused, you felt his fingers softly brush the small of your back.
You pinched the bridge of your nose, thankful he was only a few feet away from you. ‘Quick reflexes,’ you thought to yourself.
“I like it with cream,” You surrendered, shuffling over to the kitchen table. A smile crept onto his face, “Got it,”
“Adrian,” Pulling out a chair, you sat as you watched him start the coffee machine.
“Yeah?” He looked over to you, the morning sun framing his face in a way that made your heart lightly flutter.
“Can you… keep it down at night? I’m okay with you doing it- it’s just that… well,” You pointed to the dark circles under your eyes.
“Oh, sorry… I didn’t realize the walls were so thin,” He rubbed his nape, “I’ll try streaming earlier, so it doesn’t bother you,”
You nodded gratefully, “Thanks, I appreciate it.”
Somehow, he convinced you to join his stream. He didn’t have many viewers, maybe 200 at most, but he was excited to introduce you. You didn’t exactly own a gaming pc, so Adrian decided to teach you how to play Marvel Rivals on his setup.
He leaned in, his head hovering over your shoulder as he watched you look back at forth at the screen and the keyboard.
“Here, put your fingers like this,” His hand came over yours, adjusting your fingers to match the keys. You felt your heart beat faster, the tips of your ears turning faintly red. The chat was sending encouraging messages, sending tips and general advice for playing.
“YES!” You pumped your fist in the air, seeing your character flash for MVP of the game.
“I knew you were good!” Adrian slings his arm over yours shoulder, pulling you in close. You smile, thanking him with a faint blush.
Oooooo they’re blsuhinggg
Are they dating????
NOOOOOOO DON T BE DATING PLS
You ignored the comments, though the thought of that did pop into your mind. ‘Date him?’ Your chest beat faster at the thought. However, Adrian didn’t seem like the romantic type.
“Alright, time to watch a pro,” A cocky smirk was plastered on his face, he cracked his knuckles.
“Don’t get too ahead of yourself,” You chuckled, moving your seat a little more to the side so he could scoot his own towards the keyboard.
He immediately lost the first game.
You celebrated everything with him. From his YouTube to his Twitch, he always asked you to spend time with him.
From his 5k subscriber milestone to his 5 million, in your eyes he was still the same. You grounded him, reminding him how grateful he should be and such. Unconsciously, this tied you to him. His fame was yours, even if you didn’t even know.
“What’s Adri[Name]?” He finally convinced you to use social media, TikTok was first. Adrian paused his game, turning to where you sat on his bed— outside of the camera’s view.
“What?” He choked out, “Where’d you hear that from?” You raised a brow, his tone suspicious.
“Online, there’s this whole account on it. Why’s my name in it?”
“No, no, do not click on that,” You clicked on it, the profile picture being one you remembered Adrian post on his instagram. The two of you holding a 5M cake.
“There’s art on i-“ You cleared your throat, clicking on the video and seeing a collection of fanart between you and Adrian.
“YOU DID NOT,” He got up from his chair, practically throwing himself onto you to snatch your phone.
ITS HAPPENING!!!!
FINALLY 🗣️🗣️🗣️
They gonna fuck on stream?? 🙏🙏🙏
ITS REAAALLLL
CLIPPING THIS
ADRI[NAME] REAL
“Hey! I’m just looking-!” You laughed, keeping it out of his reach, “Someone tell mee!” The two of you fought over it. From where the camera was, only Adrian and your legs showed— and in a very compromising angle.
Freak01 donated $100!
Adri[Name] is Adrian x [Name], will send $1K if you kiss live ;]
The both of you froze at the live donation, Adrian got off of you and stared at the screen. You couldn’t see his face, however a bright red began to engulf his ears.
“You can’t be serious…? Especially with that name,” He murmured. You sat up, fixing your hair as the chat chanted for the two of you to do it.
“1k…” Your mind swirled with what you could do with that money, it was enough to pay half of this month’s rent. Sure, it wasn’t a lot, but it was something. Tempting, but kiss? Live? On stream? With Adrian? Your heart felt like it wanted to burst out of your chest, you could feel it pounding against your rib cage.
You couldn’t lie to yourself. The way your face lit up red around him, how you grown to feel more attached, more attracted, more yearning for time with him, more giddy, and… in love.
But this wasn’t something you wanted to force, no amount of money should be the reason for your confession. You wanted it to be natural, not in front of thousands to see all for a donation.
Soft and warm.
Did you doze off? Zone out? You couldn’t remember.
A comforting hand cupped your face. Your eyes blown wide open, his gently closed. He pulled away, mouth coming near your ear.
“I turned it off,” He murmured, thumb caressing your cheek. He moved back you look into your eyes, concerned from your silent yet flushed face.
“S-Sorry, did-“ You took his face, pulling him closer to smash his lips back onto yours. Adrian let out a surprised noise before leaning into it, tongue flicking out as if asking for entrance. Your mouth parted, letting him in. You were gently pushed onto your back, tongues fighting for dominance.
His lips came apart from yours, panting for air. Your chest heaved, his and your faces flushed red. Adrian’s arms planted for support on each side of your head.
“Does this mean we’re dating?” He puffed, a lopsided grin spreading onto his face from above.
“No,” He frowned before you burst out laughing. “Yes, god- the look on your face was hilarious,”
“You almost gave me a heart attack!” He fell onto his side, lying next to you.
“Sorry, sorry,”
