I just watched Stree (2018). What a fun movie, its funny, atmospheric, good writing, fun characters, nice cinematography and a killer soundtrack.

Its like a horror comedy but it mixes the two very well. Its not a silly film and def leans at times more into the horror but still has funny moments.

Definitely recommend it, its on netflix. Sequel is coming out this year.

Stree (2018), review

A perfect horror-comedy movie, makers just made something unique and important start Indian horror cinematic universe with literally desi(Indian) concept. [[MORE]]Story is actually inspired from real life incident/myth of village in Karnataka. It gave important message about "Repect Women" but horror and comedy with dailogues make this super amazing.

Concept of movie is amazing infact of you like to horror stories then it's for you (expect it's comedy will make you lol instead feeling horror). The unique thing is about main female character which remains mysterious throughout the movie, even helping protagonist to save other people of village but she did it for herself. Which makes her more powerful 'Chudel' (Indian witch) by joining choti (braid) to her.

I'm hungry to watch what happens next or who is that mysterious 'Chudel'. By the way I think there's prequal in development and also there are two other films which are from same universe "Roohi" and "Bhediya", Bhediya's is in filming stage and Roohi is released but is not directly connected to Stree.
