Some shots from the debut day of Lost Island Theme Park’s new walkaround characters. To recap from a previous post, the villagers are:
Tunika and Yamil of the Yuta Earth Tribe
Kiku and Alzanu of the Awa Water Nomads
Ula and Kolvak of the Mura Fire Clan
Bardo and Lumina of the Udara Air Society
These characters were very much free-range today going between their realms and the entry area, though towards 11am and 5pm, they will congregate near the park’s entrance courtyard for the “Lost Island Legend Ceremony” telling the park’s backstory with a little audience participation as the realm representatives will look to recruit guests as honorary members. The villagers do keep little trinkets on hand. Besides getting a couple of realm symbol temporary tattoos, the Udara musician Bardo gave me a guitar pick for his band “The Hawk Nachos” and Yamil, the mushroom hatted Yuta merchant was really eager to offer plastic lizards in trade for things.
Besides the eight villagers, there is an anthropologist named Marion Galavant studying the island’s cultures (presumably making Lost Island’s khaki-clad CMs her research team) and in the style of Dreamfinder and Figment or the baby dino wranglers at Universal Studios’s Jurassic Parks, she is occasionally accompanied by a young Yikyik, a horned fox like creature native to the island.
