Do walkaround actors who play superheroes at live events count
This is Ray Middleton.Ray Middleton was an actor of both stage and screen .probabbly best known for playing Thomas McKean in 1776.....He also at the 1940 Worlds Fair ,was the first actor to embody Superman,as a walkaround character
.....And my question for you guys is .....Do live appearence actors count as superhero portrayals......I DONT mean those who appear in a dramatic production, like Reeve Carney as Spider-Man or Bob Holiday as Superman,I mean the working actors who appear as walk around heroes at live appearences ,publicity stunts and theme parks
Because they ARE Actors playing a role....But do they count as having played the character?
At first when I saw Ray Middleton listed as the first actor to play Superman,I kind of scoffed"He doesnt count "....But then I thought "Why shouldnt he count ?" and realized I think we assume acting is glitz and glamour but there are good actors out there who cant get a film gig.....But can make some cash playing Spider-Man at a theme park
So to me.....Ray Middleton counts as the first Superman
Just food for thought ,wanna see what you guys think
