Ooooooh hehe I just made third temple even angstier. Originally charging the stone kinda hurts Sasha a bit so he pulls it out early but I didn't have a good reason for it to other than "oh cause he like awakened them or something" but now. Now I have a wonderful reason. Yknow what maybe we should start warning for spoilers so like major Wandering Vagabond spoilers under the cut. See this doesn't actually matter because I have yet to share my tumblr on ao3 but it's here

Okay so Sasha gets permanent reminders of her powers in the form of her hair and eye (lol almost wrote eyes) and now I have a good reason for it. Her powers are literally what's keeping her alive. Like she died but no clone situation like Anne it's still the same body (hence not fixing eye) and is only alive because her powers are like "nope can't let lizard man win". So when they go to charge the stone, and that power is transferred out of her? Essentially so is her life force. Sasha didn't know what exactly saved him before with the herons, only remembering a faint voice, but in that moment? He knows it has to do with the gems. He knows that if the gem takes all the energy back, he will die. So he pulls the gem out almost immediately, but it's still a little to late. The gem is charged about halfway, and Sasha is weakened the same amount.

The girls don't understand, of course, especially Marcy (and all the voices with her), and they try and fully charge the stone. Sasha speaks, because she has to, it's the only way to get them to listen. It's barely comprehensible, said just before she passes out, but it convinces Anne, who in turn convinces Marcy to at least wait until Sasha wakes up. Which doesn't happen for a couple days. They return to the Forgers, who recognize what's happened immediately, having seen the heron fight and its aftermath. They explain that this usually happens after Sasha uses his powers, and Anne and Marcy's eyes go wide, but for different reasons. Anne, because she's reminded of those small times that people said her eyes flash blue and she feels stronger, because she's finally making the connection between the pink hair and eye to the pink gem. Marcy, because this means that Sasha is a threat now, but where did that thought come from? And the little orange shell tightens it's hold.

Unpopular Opinion regarding Sasha Waybright

I have No desire to see Super Sayain Pink/Red Sasha and hope the show does not give Sasha back her powers. Now just for the record I love Sasha. I think she is one of the most complex cartoon characters I have seen since in animation in a long time, and its not that I think she doesn’t deserve her powers. Sasha has her problems, but at heart she is a good kid and 3x02b shows her realize she needs to work on herself and make steps toward doing so.

My reason for not wanting her to get her powers back is that when you look at Sasha’s good points I really thinks he is better without her powers. Sasha is Strong. She is brave She has fought tons of monsters, and the fiercest citizens of Amphibia, and never once run, because she never gives up. She shows leadership skills on several occasions. She is also self confident and really intelligent streetwise.These are all good things

Remember when Ford confessed to Stan that he knew unlike him San would have seen through Bill in an instant. Well I guarantee you that if Sasha had been with Marcy and Anne in Newtopia when they met King Andrias she would have called his Bull from a mile away and refused a part in it for any of them.

Since Sasha did not get a chance to do that with the King I want her to do that with the Night. Like we know that the show will end with the three girls having to give up being the calamity trio, and possibly having to destroy the box forever. That is how this type of story almost always goes. You went on the journey, you grew as a person, then you go back home to your normal life better. We also know right now that Anne doesn’t like using her powers, but based on the promo will keep using them to fight Andrias’s Frogbots, probably because she feels like they are the only sure fired way to protect her friends. I feel like Anne will be something Anne will struggle with throughout the series, and the night may take advantage of.

Like imagine it telling her if she stays with it, it will not only ensure that she keeps her powers, but will train her to do more things with them than she could possibly imagine. She will be able to see to it that her friends and family, heck anyone she meets across the whole multiverse stay safe and happy with her forever.. no picking worlds no saying goodbyes. She has nothing to fear of becoming like King Andrias, no that had nothing to do with the night, it was just that Andrias was always only pretending to have a heart. Anne’s far to pure of heart to ever make such mistakes...and I feel like Anne may be tempted to say yes, or perhaps scared to say no. It all sounds great and, like Marcy, Anne at imes is unsure and doubtful of her own abilities. Maybe she never would have gotten so far without her powers and needs to keep them.

But Sasha is there, the night is telling her the same thing about her Strength powers, how it will give them back and then she can come with them and be unstoppable and she just looks it in the eye and says “Shut up ugly amphibian thing. Your stupid box didn’t make me strong, I have always been that way and never needed you” then turns to Anne and says something to the tune of “And you’ve always been the most caring person I know powers or no powers, don’t listen to him”. I think that would be the Ultimate display of Strength from Sasha (which we didn’t really get at her temple) and a great way to show a necessary and more supportive dynamic between her and Anne at the end.
