New releases from Planning for Burial/Stress Waves and Kevin Hufnagel now available
You can now stream the grey, droning, dreamy Planning For Burial/Stress Waves split 7" at BrooklynVegan. Kristina Esfandiari of King Woman and Miserable contributes additional vocals on the PFB song, "Dove." It was honor to work with Thom, whose most recent LP, Desideratum, means the world to us (and turns two years old today!), as well as the similarly talented gents in Stress Waves. Planning for Burial plays in Rochester, NY this weekend, and will embark on a short midwest tour with Ruined over Memorial Day Weekend: 5/14/16 - Rochester, NY at South Wedge Mission 5/27/16 - Pittsburgh, PA at Dock 5 5/28/16 - Grand Rapids, MI at Firehouse Art Gallery 5/29/16 - Columbus, OH at The Spacebar
You can also stream and buy the double EP cassette of gauzy, ambient guitar from the prolific Kevin Hufnagel. His other band, Gorguts, also released their impressive new Pleiades' Dust record today. Many congratulations, Kevin! Listen here: http://bit.ly/1TA22za Buy here: http://bit.ly/1T7lkip
Kevin will be playing a release show in NYC at Saint Vitus on Sunday, May 15th. More details here: Dylan Carlson (Earth), Guardian Alien, Kevin Hufnagel at Saint Vitus
Both releases will be available for pay-what-you-want download in the coming weeks.
Like I said the Stress Waves split 7″ really isn’t a preorder since they are in the labels hands. They will be shipping ASAP. A Full Stream is coming Friday. Order here.
It’s finally here. You can preorder the 7″ from the label now though it’s not really a preorder since the vinyl will be in the labels hand tomorrow. It’s an older song but I still love it. One of my absolute favorite artists Kristina Esfandiari (King Woman/Miserable) was kind enough to lend her voice to my song. On top of that I’ve been a huge fan of Stress Waves for a few years now.
Full split stream is coming this Friday. Order here.
this split will finally be coming out some time early next year. Recorded in September of 2014. I finished it finally over the summer of 2015. Kristina from King Woman/Miserable provided back up vocals. Mastered by Nicholas Wilbur.
My body is not liking me this week. I can't seem to shake the pain off. Study group will have to wait for the time being. My adopted mom's death is taking more of a toll on me than I thought it would. Practicing self care. I did go to a job fair earlier today though. I hope to get a second interview. I really need some funds coming in considering dad's situation. On the other hand, I can't wait for the cruise. I need time away from Indy. Anyway, just checking in. I'm going to rest now. Have a good Friday y'all.
Stress Waves Incandescent Dreams ~church organs in the sewer system~
Another staggeringly beautiful project from the artist roster of This Aint Heaven records. Stress Waves makes alluring dark subterranean synth pop that can also be quite perky as well at times. Sonically the project does remind me a great deal of OLD Black Marble but honestly I think I like Stress Waves a little more which is a really big statement.
I have listened to the 5 track EP multiple times through this morning alone and I think its absolutely fantastic songwriting and composition. Cold, brooding and lonely at times yet sunny and inviting at others. Beautiful little journey through synthesized human emotion. Heres another track, if you like lo-fi music, synth pop or just good music in general I strongly suggest you go buy this from TAHRC
