The epilogue is probably going up within a week, if things go according to plan, which, as we all know, often don't.

Finished the first draft of the epilogue. Screamed internally for fifteen minutes.
I doubt this is going to make it to 5K words unless I significantly alter the ending.
PSA: technical difficulties
I think it is a bit silly that saving a draft at AO3 brings a fic to the front page of a given fandom, but publishing it does not. I created a 'to be deleted' chapter draft to bring Strict to the front page, which it did. (Apologies to subscribers who wondered WTF that was!) It then dropped Strict off the front page. Oops. So I uploaded another dummy draft chapter.
So, when I'm done with the fic, there may be another 'to be deleted' chapter that comes up and then is deleted. Sorry about that. :D
not a depressing post of woe
First, apologies for all my blather on trying to get this chapter out. I usually use twitter to blather my woes. However, I can't talk about Strict on twitter, so I've been vomiting up my woes on tumblr instead.
Second, I could actually make my deadline and update today. In fact, I uploaded the chapter and dinked with the formatting and crap at AO3 earlier this morning.
However, I'm going to discuss a couple changes on it and look it over one last time on Sunday, when I have the time. I'm not going to spend more than an hour on it between now and then. So, you won't have to hear about it anymore.
Props to people in the tags for the encouragement over the past few weeks of my complaining complainy-ness. Especially Taha, who puts up with beta-reading crap, and Synekdokee, who sent me Finnish black licorice (I haven't tried it yet!) and a lovely card.
If all goes as planned, Strict's last chapter (weighing in at 12K words) will go up on Friday morning (JST). (That's Thursday night for the Americas.)

...And then innumerable hours of making the edits in the file. Pfffffffffffft.
It leapt past 10K to 11K. I don't know what it will be after the edits. It won't be the longest chapter, but it will be the longest chapter without 4-5K words of explicit sex. Word count is probably the best way to guess if there's sex in chapter.
I might be able to update today.
state of fic
The good news is that the last chapter of Strict is currently over 10K words. The bad news is I have more to go and massive amounts of editing. So I don't know when I'll be updating, but hopefully before Sunday night, my time.
struggling
I'm beginning to think a Strict update is not going to happen this week, either. The first half of the chapter has awkward moments, but I'm fixing them. The second half is a train-wreck of utter badness, plus I still have about 2K to add to it.
To make matters worse, I probably won't have time to write this weekend.
And I am getting totally obsessed with the fic I want to do straight after. Must be strong and deny the urge to work on it.
