ur movie list is legit like, filled with peak movies (I am not sorry about adding another) LMAO
deadddd i really do have so many movies on my movie list i need to watch and that's not even counting my show list I'll get to them eventually hopefully 😅😭🤣
Okay so idk if this is a spoiler or not but idk when I'll get to actually writing this so ya'll get to know early but the two of my Atla Ocs have the funniest fucking relationship/first meeting that I think I might've ever written so I'm gonna ramble at y'all about that! (Sorry Eli I know you already know this but it's too funny so I have to share with the class also adding a read more cause just realized this is gonna be hella long)
So when I first started working on my Atla story I knew that ofc I had to have my own version of the gaang cause tbh I love creating oc groups and this was the perfect excuse to do one. At this point I only really had an idea for my oc Aisha who was the main reason for me starting the Atla fic but we're not gonna get into her here cause this is about Ryuu and Himari!
Eventually I realized that I wanted my fic Winds Of Change to be more in depth about how the 100 year war changed every day people's lives in ways that might not have been touched on in depth in the show as well as how they work to heal from it after the war ended. (Which by the way is absolutely amazing no notes from me it was actually so difficult for me to come up with a story for this fandom at first because of that reason)
So the story takes place almost a year after the war has ended and everyone is holding their breath as the year anniversary of the end of the war inches ever closer. Some more than others... for example there is Ryuu who was raised in Caldera City the capital city of the fire nation till he was around 6 (don't hold me to that still figuring out ages) when his Father was killed in action.
After that Ryuu's Mother moved them to Ember Island to live full time at their beach house. She then took over his teaching keeping him home schooled where instead of spreading the indoctrination that was common in most Fire Nation schools she taught him about the Fire Nation before the war. From that point on Ryuu learned to value peace over war and recognizing the Fire Nations false teachings all while making sure not to reveal his and his mother's true opinions about "Fire Nation Supremacy".
Over time he also grew attached to the idea of pacifism refusing to fight even in jest realizing that no good can come from doing harm all the while still naive about the true harm that the Fire Nation was causing to the other nations. While his Mother did her best to inform him the best she could and make him question everything little did he know that she continued to shelter him from much in her own way.
It wasn't until one regular Summers day when everything he thought he knew came into question. They decided to get out of the heat by visiting a cave system that would give them some shade but it wasn't as steady as they thought. As the rocks above Ryuu's Mother began to fall instinctively he called upon something deep inside him and bent the rocks around her to save his mother's life.
Only then did he finally find out the truth of his birth he was a child of the earth kingdom that had been rescued as a baby when his father had found him abandoned in the middle of a siege. His father than took him home to his wife who was already pregnant with child, planning to raise them as "twins". Sadly the unborn did not make it and so they raised Ryuu as their one and only son, explaining his size away with the excuse of him being a fast grower.
When they had found him he had a light green knitted blanket wrapped around his form the only design being a name stitched in the center, Riku. Seeing as they couldn't give him a earth kingdom name but still wanting to honor his parents (who his Father assumed perished in the war) they decided to name him Ryuu instead, a name meaning dragon and noble.
(This was wayyy longer than I anticipated so if you made it this far I thank you! And because it got way too long I decided that it was best to do another post about Himari and their connection so if anyone is interested lemme know! Also to be clear there is no romantic relationship between them whatsoever if anyone was worried about that.)
1 for the get to know the author ask? (please go off, I wanna hear your brainrot)
I know its been like almost two years but like I said I'd get to it eventually! XD As always thanks for the ask!!! ^^
1) is there a story you’re holding off on writing for some reason?
Honestly I feel like there's definitely a definitely a decent amount of story ideas I've had that I've held off on starting whether it's cause I already have so many stories I'm working on atm or because the inspiration has kind of stalled once I reached a certain point but one that I'm really into that I feel like others might find interesting is listed on my WIPs list and is called Dragon's Heart...
It's about a princess trapped in a castle guarded by a fearsome dragon... except she's not really a princess and it's not just any dragon guarding her. The princess and the dragon are actually two separate entities that share the same body. (Inserting read more cause it got kinda long)
Due to her traumatic past and through magic the girl inadvertently created the dragon to protect herself from the horrors she went through. But because of the dragon's purpose being protection she can't remember any of her negative past because the dragon holds all of her bad memories for her.
He alone remembers all the terrible things that has been done to her by people and to protect her he took her to an abandoned castle and guarded her from the outside world. Eventually the legend grew and whispers spread that in the castle lived a princess who would grant a reward if rescued.
So many came to rescue the fabled princess and to stop any more harm from coming to her the dragon would take over their body and manifest into his proper body of a dragon (normally he just lived in her mind sharing her body like an annoying pest she would say) and would remove the threat before turning back and giving her back the control.
There's more to it than that, throw in a rather clever elf, some other magical creatures and an adventure to find someone who can separate the dragon and the girl and you get the general idea of Dragon's Heart. I really love the idea but the reason I have been holding off writing it is because although I love story telling and character creation world building isn't my passion or my strong suit due to that fact.
So since I would have to do a lot of world building to create a full feeling world and interesting adventures for my lovely group (including the elf and others since I'm also thinking of throwing a mermaid in there) I have kind of dropped off working on it for now. I want to be able to do the story justice when I do get around to writing it and I know that that's not something I am able to do at this point in time.
Crying cause this is way late and I still don't know how this is supposed to work but I was watching avatar the last Airbender earlier and thought of my ATLA oc Aisha and what she would be doing in the first episode where you meet Suki...
I feel like Aisha would be a lot softer on outsiders than Suki is because Aisha was literally and outsider and it's thanks to Suki's mom the town leader that her parents were even allowed to stay. So while Suki is threatening to feed the gaang to the sea monster Aisha is backing her up but feeling really bad about it and is happy when the avatar and friends are allowed to stay.
And ofc you know after everything calms down Suki is in their shared bedroom ranting non stop about how much of a dick Sokka is and Aisha does her job as best friend and nods along while agreeing when appropriate. She doesn't get close to the Gaang because she's not great with new people but she does watch Katara and Sokka in interest. She's never seen anyone else who looks like her before other than her dad although her parents and Suki's mom are on a mission at the moment and left the second in command in charge so she can't go and ask them.
So she watches Sokka and Katara from afar and smiles in amusement as she watches her best friend kick the Sokka's butt. But later when the Avatar and friends have flown away and Aisha and Suki are all alone she'll tease Suki about her interest in the boy. And although Suki will complain and say she's not interested in a sexist jerk like that Aisha notices that there's some respect in her eyes gained from Sokka's apology and willingness to learn from Suki.
Then after Suki has drifted off to sleep Aisha will wonder where the Avatar is going, what it's like in all those other places, if she'll ever get to see anything outside the tiny island where she grew up and most important if she even wants to...
Ahhh thank you for sending me an ask and I'm sorry I took so long to respond 😅 My current favorite oc that I'm working on at the moment is Delphi from this story I'm working on with my friend @ipanicatmorethanjustthedisco called Dryad's Veil 😄
7:What color are their eyes?
Delphi’s eyes are bright gold due to a blessing (she would call it a curse) she received before she was born and her sclera is actually black instead of white due to the same blessing 😊
14:Are they a pessimist or an optimist?
Delphi is a complete pessimist due to the things she endured when growing up as well as the fact that she knows fate is an actual thing so because of first hand knowledge she believes that bad things are going to happen regardless of what people do to try and stop them although that doesn't stop her from being stubborn and trying to stop them anyways haha
