FUGUE No. 2 in D Minor for Solo Violin- by yours truly. 🙂 It’s roughly 7min20sec total (instagram only allows 1 minute.) Thanks for listening! 🙂🙏🙂😂 Backstory: After learning the fugues of J.S. Bach (1685-1750) my appetite for the genre was at a peak, so I have now completed 3 more! I wanted them for my DMA lecture recital, but was told my topic was “Good for an education or composition major, but not a performance major. We want to see music with a performance tradition.” (So I’m compromising with the ambitious task of rewriting Bach’s Chaconne, which is going well. Repeating the Decending Tetrachord, Agogic 2nd beat and the Progression [ i - iiø4/2 - V6/5 - i - VI - iv - i6/4 - V6/5 - i ] is easy to follow.) Anyway, these fugues are some of he most treasured things I possess, and I’m super grateful for your listening to clips over the past couple of years!
