Cierra los ojos. Respira. Ahora imagina que estás aquí, en mi lugar. Sientes el peso del violín sobre tu hombro, el roce suave de las cuerdas bajo tus dedos, y el primer compás del Vals No. 2 de Shostakovich comenzando a latir en el aire… 🤍

Así se vive esta obra maestra desde mi perspectiva: no es solo música, es un diálogo silencioso entre el alma y el sonido. Un suspiro hecho melodía. Junto a la Orquesta Sinfónica de San Salvador, cada nota fue un recordatorio de que la belleza puede nacer de la melancolía. 🥀➡️✨

This is what starting over looks like. I started playing the violin as a kid. Was good enough to get into college as a music major before dropping out. Now I’m going back to the basics and learning better ways since I’m out of practice. This violin is alright, and has kept me company for about 15 years, but it’s no Scott Cao. I had to sell that one during some dark days a long, long time ago after college just to keep the lights on and feed my fam. I’m back to doing what makes me happy. as the atom bombs fall 🎻💣⁣ ⁣ For the love of chorale, PLEASE try to listen to this with good headphones. It's probably worth it. 🤣⁣ ⁣ .⁣ .⁣ .⁣ ⁣ NERD CORNER⁣ ⁣ Yeeaah it's one of those popular TikTok songs. But I just couldn't resist the ✨ drama ✨ of the Sarah Cothran version. 🤣⁣ ⁣ I've wanted to attempt to write thiiccccc juicy Eric Whitacre-style chorale harmonies for AGES... Crazy 11th and 13th chords everywhere. 5ths in the bass line for emphasis. SO MUCH DISSONANCE?!!?!? But whenever I've tried to arrange a whole song that way I get overwhelmed and don't finish - taking just the climax of this song was perfect.⁣ ⁣ So there's the arranging challenge... Then how on earth do you mix the sound of 7 string parts, make each part audible, AND still make the solo part stand out above it??? ... And then there was this Bo Burnham - "Inside" projector video lighting nonsense I wanted to try 😵 ...
