A rare sturdy son of Unbridled’s Song, out Take Charge Lady, by Dehre, Will Take Charge was the Eclipse Champion Three Year Old Colt in 2013. He won the Travers Stakes and Clark Handicap, both Gr.I wins. His other wins include the Gr.II Oaklawn Handicap, Pennsylvania Derby, and Rebel Stakes. His dam, Take Charge Lady, was a champion broodmare, having also produced Gr.I winner Take Charge Indy. She was also a multiple graded stakes winner.
Palace Malice- $20,000
The son of Curlin, out of the Royal Anthem mare Palace Rumor, was very versatile in his career, having won the Gr.I Belmont Stakes and Metropolitan Handicap. He was the first to do so in over 30 years. His other wins include the Gr.II Gulfstream Park Handicap, New Orleans Handicap, and Jim Dandy Stakes. He may just be his sire’s best son to date.
Sky Mesa- $15,000
A son of prominent sire of sires Pulpit, out of the Storm Cat mare Caress, the bay Sky Mesa won the Gr.I Hopeful Stakes and Breeders Futurity. So far, he has sired 50+ black type winners, with his most notable progeny being General Quarters, Dynamic Sky, Highland Sky, and Join in the Dance. His dam, Caress, was a multiple graded stakes winner, having won the My Charmer Handicap, Beaugay Handicap, Just a Game Stakes (twice), Poker Stakes, Suffolk Handicap, and Athenia Handicap.
Fast Anna- $7,500
A son of Medaglia d’Oro, out of the Rahy mare Dreaming of Anna, Fast Anna stayed true to his name on the race track. Fast Anna ran second in the Gr.I King’s Bishop Stakes and the Gr.II Gallant Bob Stakes. As a four year old, he won the Sawgrass Handicap. His dam, Dreaming of Anna, was a multiple Graded stakes winner, having won the Endeavor Handicap, Hillsborough Stakes, Mint Julep Stakes, Summer Stakes, and Pucker Up Stakes. She won the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies as a juvenile, and was voted Eclipse Champion for her age group.
Strong Mandate- $10,000
A son of Tiznow, out of the Deputy Minister mare Clear Mandate, Strong Mandate took the Gr.I Hopeful Stakes at Saratoga as a juvenile and finished third in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile. He is his sire’s only son to win a Gr.I as a juvenile. His dam, Clear Mandate, was a multiple Gr.I and graded stakes winner, having won the Cotillion Handicap, Shuvee Handicap, John A. Morris Handicap, and Spinster Stakes in her career.
Strong Mandate, whose retirement was first reported back in May 2014, will retire to Three Chimneys Farm and take up stud duty in 2015. Announced on 11 October 2014.
The son of Tiznow and Clear Mandate, born in Kentucky in 2011, became his sire’s first Grade 1 (and so far the only) winner as a juvenile, when he won the 2013 Hopeful Stakes, his third ever start, in spectacular fashion on a muddy course at Saratoga - he won by 9 ¾ lengths, the largest victory margin in the race’s year history (as of 2014). He then finished seventh behind Havana in the Champagne Stakes at Belmont and third behind New Year’s Day in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile. This year, at age three, he ran second to Tapiture in the Southwest Stakes, then fourth behind Hoppertunity in the Rebel Stakes, and in his last race, the Arkansas Derby, he finished eighth behind Danza. All in all a record of 8:2-2-1 and earnings of $529,566. Injury did not allow him the Triple Crown races.

Strong Mandate has been retired due to a knee chip.
Ugh Today Isn't Fun
Between Wise Dan, Groupie Doll, and Obviously I have had a bunch of disappointments today. -sighs-
Please let Honor Code or Strong Mandate win the Champagne. Preferably Honor Code.
Admittedly I think Wise Dans problem was the race coming off the turf.
A few more images of Strong Mandate on the Oklahoma track prior to his Hopeful victory.
Strong Mandate galloping on the Oklahoma track one chilly morning, prior to his victory in the Hopeful. He trains with blinkers on and has a certain presence about him that distinguishes him from other two year olds. Very mature. Looking forward to seeing his three year old campaign.
