“i don’t get why you’d be a part of this, morinozuka.” she’s not visiting the host club to be flattered, because that’s pointless and one of the things rin hates about this school. she just enjoys the way they remember (or have recorded) how she likes her tea, and it’s nice to not have to remind them that she doesn’t drink it scalding. and, well, her classmate isn’t the worst, she supposes. “is it to watch over haninozuka?” that, at least, would make sense.

What the hell did that-- oh, God, Hikaru wasn’t sure if he hated this or was looking forward to it. Shit, why’d he have so be so unsure about this? C’mon, Hikaru! Be a man, just figure out what you want and stick with it.
At this point, what even were they, really? Things had been feeling weird, in all honesty. On the edge of friends, or just beginning to cross that line into something more? --Well, considering this situation they were in, Hikaru was pretty sure that they’d already passed that line.

He really wasn’t-- used to being on this side of it before. Within the act the Hitachiin twins had, Hikaru was always the more dominant once. The one to place his hands on his brother’s face, to comfort his twin when he was upset? This was all too new to him, to have be put in the same position as Kaoru.
