random things my professors have said (starters)||Accepting

These bastards at this damn school could be even more relentless than the Tribe. He hadn’t even told anyone outside of his team about his semblance and yet... yet it had still managed to catch up with him. Granted, it was just little things here and there, but it had been enough to earn him the ‘bad luck charm’ moniker here too. He was so done. The ends did NOT justify the abuse... though crawling back to Anima and to that camp without following through... that wasn’t much better.

Thankfully, after blowing up at Raven about it... and Summer trying to talk him down... he’d gone to cool his head and he’d realized what would happen if he went back there now. That and... Summer wasn’t there. That was something that seemed even worse than the added abuse he’d take from the Tribe.

So he dragged himself back to their dorm at 2 in the morning... to a Summer sitting there, awake and waiting for him. 

“How did you know I’d come back?” he sighed. “I... I was pretty nasty about the whole thing earlier. And... pretty set on leaving this friggin’ place...”

She knew she needed to practice, needed to be able to get her silver eyes to work on command. Ozpin had told her as much... and that they would only work in the presence of Grimm...

So here she was, out in the middle of the Emerald Forest, alone, looking for smaller Grimm to attempt to practice on.

Hurt/Comfort Starters || Accepting

@littleblackqrow​ sent:  “You want me to punch him in the face??”

The flat look that crossed Tai’s face was a clear sign that, in fact, he didn’t want Qrow to do that. “And just what do you think that would accomplish?” he scolded. “You know there’s more than just throwing fists to solve a problem right?”

Like he was one to talk, but it was also a lesson he’d learned the hard way many times over. Although, when it came to that snarky Atlas Academy brat James.. well... maybe it would do him some good. “He’s just trying to get under our skin before the Tournament. Besides, if we get caught out here brawling just because he was running his mouth, Summer will kick our butts clear to Anima.”

In the background, Cadet Ironwood and his smug face grinned at the two of them. He even had the audacity to try and taunt them both... making some stupid remark about how they should just kiss and get it over with. Tai clearly seethed but he kept his composure despite wanting to punch him himself. 

“We’ll get our chance in the Arena... come on Qrow...” He finally settled on, grabbing Qrow by the shoulder of his uniform and trying to drag him away before they both regretted it.

Protective Sentence Starters || Accepting

@littleblackqrow​ sent:  “Okay, you know it’s very cute how you are trying to protect me, but you’re so tiny that I can’t even take you seriously!”

It was everything Summer had not to turn on him and use her best angry pout on him, it would only make that comment so much worse and she knew it. Instead all of her 5′5″ frame turned, silver eyes glaring at him. “Fine, next time I won’t save your butt when you’re too busy being Mr. I-Wanna-Be-A-Badass and don’t see a threat sneaking up behind you,” she shot back.

She was small, she got that, but Qrow didn’t need to keep reminding her like this. “And since we’re standing here, and those Grimm aren’t...” Pausing a moment, Summer clicked a button on each of her Thorns and the blades relaxed back to their whip state so she could hook them back on her belt. “Well I’d say you better learn to take my ‘cute’ seriously.”

For a moment that stern look that had held her expression softened. “Besides, haven’t you ever heard of tiny but fierce?”

There was a smirk that played over his lips as he stood outside the classroom. “Oh come on Qrow, lighten up a little would you? I just saved your butt from a week’s worth of detention and extra work. I’d say that should at least count for something.” 

Slipping his arm across Qrow’s shoulders, he started to coax him in the direction of the mess hall. It was just about lunch time, he was starving, and he knew that Summer and Raven would already be there waiting to find out how their ‘scolding’ for falling asleep in class had gone. “Just be glad that TA Port usually goes sport hunting with my dad once a month and likes me...”

Freak rain storms were the WORST!

It was just supposed to be a quick trip into Vale and the clouds were a little gray sure, but it hadn’t felt like it would rain. She could get away with not taking her umbrella. She’d be fine.

Boy had that been a mistake. 

When Summer had returned to their dorm room, every inch of fabric on her was clinging to her skin and her hair was plastered to her face. She was also fairly certain that she had dragged a small brook through the hallways with her too. What a mess, but at least she had snacks and the latest releases of her favorite comics safe in plastic to show for it.

She had been in the middle of trying to peel out of her water logged, fabric wrapping when Qrow had come into the room. She was actually stuck trying to get out of her cloak when he heard the snicker and some comment under his breath about her looking like a drowned rat. 

“It’s not funny!” she whined, still trying to wrestle with the heavy fabric. “Don’t just stand there, help me! Please???” 

A moment later, the fabric was lifted away from her and dropped on the floor in a thick, gooshy flop. If she wasn’t already starting to shiver a bit from being soaked to the bone, she would have scolding him about just leaving it like that. Not that Qrow would give her a chance, taking her by the shoulders and directing her towards the bathroom by way of practically walking her in there himself.

“Wait... you’re not thinking you’re gonna... QROW! I can do the rest on my own I swear!!!” she protested, face flushing and her hands trying to reach up and pry his off her shoulders. “I get it!! Come on! Lemme go!!!”

It had been a later night finishing up a report but falling asleep at her desk. Just another paragraph, that would put her in good shape to finish up in the morning. Of course Raven had come to check on her a few times, had even tried to coax her to let it be, go relax a little because it wasn’t due for another week but she couldn’t. The last time though, Raven caught her with her head down on the desk, snoozing away and threatening to get drool on her paper... That was when Summer had relented and decided to call it a night.

She was getting ready to head to her own bed in their shared dorm room when she’d felt Raven take her hand. “Stay with me tonight?” she’d asked... washing Summer’s face in a red that was only rivaled by the lining of her cloak. The boys were already passed out and snoring away... not like they didn’t already know what was starting to happen between her and Raven... but still. 

“Are... are you sure?” Her voice trembled a bit but there was no way to know if that was from nerves or from her intense level of tired. Brushing a stray hair behind her ear, Summer was actually acting timid around Raven, something that didn’t happen often. This whole having a girlfriend thing was new to her. Was that what this was? Were they girlfriends? Well, if Raven was asking her to stay with her, that might very be that answer. “I mean, if you are... I... I’d... I’d like that.”
