Breaking down goals to actions
We all have some kind of goals. Some of us write them down, some have vision board and some just carry the around in their head. Many of us have these goals for a long time but they still seem far away... That might be because the thing you want, the thing you wish for is too vague for your brain. That’s why it’s important to break down your goals into actions and here’s how:
Write down each one of your goals -Whatever it may be, write it down so you can see it any organise your thoughts.
Specify your goal -Let’s say you want to get fit. Getting fit isn’t really anything you can meassure... however weight, meassurements and ability is. So instead of having a goal of “getting fit” have a goal of “Being able to run 5 miles without dying”.
How do I get there? -You have your goal set correctly and now write what exactly gets you there, step by step. If it’s working out daily, write it down. If you want to read 2 books each month, write down how many pages you have to read every day.
Schedule the steps -Sign up for the classes you wanted to take, make time for the workout. Make time for things you want to achieve and do it.
Here are some examples from my own personal goals:
Goal: Learn to drive
Steps:
Save money for the classes
Sign up for classes
Take driving exam
Goal: Reduce waste I leave behind
Steps:
Buy reusable water bottle and food containers
Stop buying plastic bags
Stop buying paper towels
Reuse paper
etc...
Goals are much easier to achieve when you know what you’re achieving. Small, realistic steps make the goal much smaller in your eyes.
Have an amazing day!
