↳ the apple does not fall far from the tree(th)....didn’t even realize that both judd and stuart were wearing plaid shirts that kind of match
The Ryders in 3x16 “Shift-less
9-1-1: Lone Star gave us such an interesting parallel between fathers and sons.
we had judd and wyatt: wyatt blamed judd for missing out on his life
and then on the other hand we had owen and walter: owen blamed himself for his father missing out on his life
but on the healthy end of the spectrum we had tk and owen: tk knows his dad is busy, and he is also busy, but knows his dad loves him, despite his absence during his childhood
we also had robert and walter: walter became a better father to robert because he lost his sons, owen and tyler
and then we had stuart and judd: judd, like tk, knew that stuart loved him, despite his absence
all the fathers in this episode felt as if they had failed their sons, and it impacted their present relationships. the sons are the ones who reassured them, and reminded them that it does get better. it was beautiful to see owen trying to do better for tk, and walter do better for walter
I hope you’re ready, sir, cause you know the first question your father’s gonna ask us when we get there.
“Hey, is there anything spicy in that casserole? Cause my constitution don’t agree with it no more, don’t ya know.”
The second question, Judd.
Ohhh. You mean about when we gonna be ready to give him some grandbabies?
That’s the one.
Yes, I know.
+ Bonus:
The Ryders truly are the sweetest family.
