Christmas Below was a helluva lot different than Christmas Above.
You know what's thoroughly refreshing about first episode Weird City? That no one had to change their appearance in order to find love. How many rom-coms are there where one half of the couple has to completely change their appearance in order for the other person to fall in love with them? Stu and Burt loved each as they were. No need for a makeover to win each other's hearts.
That is true.
And honestly, that whole “Hey, I love that stomach, that’s my stomach” was the sweetest thing ever.

Tbh I legit cried when they were forced to break up. It was the sweetest thing I've ever freaking seen. I love Stuburt so much
After finishing the first episode of Weird City I have some thoughts...
I loved seeing Dylan again! I’m so glad he’s getting all this hype and praise for this role. It’s good seeing him act again, and it was fun seeing him take on a role that is very different from all of his previous roles.
I think we need to talk about Ed O’Neill too though! He was so good. Like really good! I forgot how fun he can be to watch too! Honestly, the last thing I’ve seen Ed in, that I can remember, is when I used to watch Married with Children. Looking him up, he’s done voices in movies I’ve seen, but other than that I don’t really watch him. I don’t watch Modern Family so to see him for 20 min was such a refresher of how good he is! Plus to go from Al Bundy to this is pretty amazing! He deserves so much praise too!
Apparently there is controversy over the age gap? Idk I’m not that deep into this fandom but just from some things I’ve seen on the tag. But I don’t think that was a problem? They are both consenting adults on and off the screen. Honestly I think the problem is that Ed is not a hot older guy ( to most people) he isn’t super skinny with abs, he doesn’t have perfectly greying hair, and he’s not someone that if we ever saw Dylan playing a gay character most people would pick. I think that is the problem most people have with it, which is super gross and a serious problem! Just my opinion, but if the older guy in this relationship was super hot, I don’t think anyone would be complaining as much about it!
TL:DR- I thought this love story was super cute and shows that even if you think you’re straight, sometimes just giving someone a chance can turn into the best thing that has ever happened to you!
I watched the first episode of Weird City out of curiosity and now I have a whole new OTP, like damn
Hi I'm still not over that episode of Weird City. I will never be over it. Wow. It was. Wow.
