ok but imagine steve/tj in a universe where bucky does exist. "bucky?" "who the hell is bucky? no, seriously. im the presidents son??"

oh god that would hurt so much though because that would mean that steve had bucky once but doesn't anymore and just because tj has bucky's face doesn't mean he is bucky and steve would just spend all his time with tj being reminded of losing bucky and uuuggghhhh nope i'm not about that life. it's not fair to tj and it's not fair to steve.

no, see, what i want is this incredibly specific fic (that one day i will have to write) where hand-wavey science things happen and tony, bruce and jane accidentally open up an inter-dimensional portal and steve falls out. except it's not their steve because he doesn't recognize any of them because the universe he comes from doesn't have any of them and when they try to send him back, he accidentally gets sent to TJ's universe and then when he runs into TJ and says "bucky?" and TJ's like "who the hell is bucky?" it doesn't hurt because steve only knew who bucky was for a few hours, but it was enough for him to realize that this boy with bucky's face is probably going to be important to him.

i know it's super fucking far-fetched and ridiculous sounding but i think i could make it work. also i just. i really need tj to get his own steve rogers okay. he deserves that level of love and happiness. so just.
