#33- Luke (Prompt Imagine)
Normally you didn’t mind parties.
Wasn’t particularly your favourite past time but never failed to provide some substantial entertainment.
Tonight however, you felt drained. You had just finished off an essay for Art History and you did not want to see the face of your notes for a good twenty years.
The mistake was to mention that to your roommate who promptly suggested you celebrate completing the essay with a whole lot of cheap beer and bad dubstep.
Okay that’s not what she said, but that was basically he definition of a college party.
Now it was half an hour in and you could already feel the boredom settling in your bones.
“Wanna dance?” You looked up at the face above you, it was him. That cute blonde that you’d seen at the start of the party but lost in the crowd.
You meekly nodded, allowing yourself to be pulled into his sweaty embrace, his hands were clammy and you didn’t mind one bit.
You both bounced around to the rhythm of the bass, his face held a lopsided smile and his lips pressed small kisses behind your ear. It was delicately out of place considering your surroundings but you loved it even more for that.
“You’re beautiful.” He blurted out, and then he realized what he did and immediately turned a dark shade of red. You giggled at his embarrassment.
“Thanks, I’m Y/n though. What’s your name?”
“Luke Hemmings. Is it too soon to ask for a date?” This time you felt he hear rush to your cheeks.
“Maybe.” You answered cheekily, laughing as he groaned.
“So should I get your number and ask you out tomorrow or would that still be too soon?”
“I think that’ll be just fine.”

Parties are your thing.
That’s right.
It’s your thing. Right up your alley. If this was the playground and you were it’s damn queen.
That was until he showed up.
Now, you didn’t realize you had competition. Much less that competition came in the form of a 6 foot tall, blonde haired blue eyed, lip ringed sweet talker in the rival frat of your sorority.
After that it was you a point behind in beer pong, a shot less and a hook up short.
In every damn party.
Suffice to say something had to be done. You were in line to be the head of your sorority and you needed to up your game to seal it.
“Having fun are you Y/n?” You didn’t bother turning around, you already knew it was him. It’s one of his annoying habits. He’d always make a beeline to you and taunt you.
“No this party’s awful.” You announced, taking sip from your red solo cup.
It wasn’t true, it was a pretty good party but he didn’t need the satisfaction of knowing that.
“Oh don’t kid yourself Y/n it’s better than anything you’d ever throw.” Luke bit back. You snorted.
“Not that you’d know, you’ve never even been invited Hemmings.” You quipped before leaving to find your friend in the crowd of dancing bodies.
“Hey!” You huffed when you heard him again.
“What do you want?” You asked in a bored tone. Luke gave you a once over before answering.
“Nothing, just that you might wanna check your bag right about now.” Luke said smiling evilly. You frowned at his answer and quickly dug into your purse.
What the hell was he- where was your phone?
Fuck.
By the time you’d processed what had happened, Luke was holding it out. The second you reached for it, he held it above your head. You shot him a glare and tried to reach for it, making him laugh and shake it around. Suddenly you got an idea.
Instead of reaching up to get the phone, you leaned into Luke’s face, for that second his guard faltered and his eyes shut to reach down to kiss you. A second was all it took for you to wrench the phone out of his hand and disappear into the crowd again.
You were feeling pretty proud of yourself as you wove through the crowd only to discover that your friend had left with some guy. You spent an hour talking to some people before he spotted you. You excused yourself from the group and made your way next to the bar.
“You, you tricked me.” Luke seethed when strided his way over to you, fuming.
If he was a cartoon you were positive there would be smoke pouring out of his ears by now.
“So?” You drawled lazily. “Wouldn’t be the first time you were outsmarted.” Luke gritted his teeth at you.
“You’re gonna apologize.” He growled, taking a step towards you.
“Come over here and make me.” You snorted, turning to leave. But you felt yourself be whipped around, a hand gripping your wrist. Before you had time to react, Luke had you pushed up against a wall, his lips pressed against yours.
You just knew it’ll be bruised come tomorrow morning.
Drive (Fratboy!Luke)
My neck, the feeling of your soft lips Illuminated in the light, bouncing off the exit signs
“Where are we going now?” You yawned, stretching in your seat, pulling the large blanket off yourself. Luke let out a light chuckle before answering.
“I don’t know honestly. To the nearest motel I suppose. Now c'mon bathroom break.” Luke nudged you making you groan but you still got out of the car. The sun has set and the sky was darkening rapidly.
How long had you slept?
Luke had promised to show you around the good side of California by taking you on an impromptu road trip for your spring break.
Even though you’ve lived here for a year, you’ve still never managed to feel like you fit in, per say. Luke insisted that if you got to know the place you’d like it as much as he did. You didn’t agree with him, he was popular and liked, it was easy for him. Currently, you were both parked out in a petrol station in the middle of nowhere.
When you came out of the foul smelling bathroom stall Luke was inside the shop, buying a stack of snacks for you both.
“Gummy worms? Really?” You asked, holding up the packet. Luke snatched it off you before pouting.
“I like them!” You laughed at his response and shook your head.
“Luke Hemmings, constant party goer loves gummy worms, nice.” You teased. Luke shot you a mock glare.
“Alright that’s enough from you.” He muttered, collecting the change and pouting the whole way out.
“Some a fratboy you are.” You laughed at sight of him carrying a bag of candy. Suddenly, Luke stopped and turned to face you. He dropped the bag onto the hood of the truck and slowly prowled towards you.
Under the harsh fluorescent light of the exit sign, he had green and pink light splattered across his face making him look trippy. He flicked his wrist towards you and spun you around so you had your back to him. You could feel his breath on your neck as he slowly trailed kisses along it.
All of a sudden he stopped and stepped away, laughing and running to the truck before you could even comprehend what was happening.
All we do is think about the feelings that we hide All we do is sit in silence waiting for a sign
There was a comfortable silence mixed with the soft music playing from Luke’s stereo, only to be interrupted by the ping of your phone. It was a text from y/b/f
Is he treating you okay? Did you talk?
You sighed, turning over the screen so you wouldn’t have to see the message.
What were you? Friends? Dating? Friends with benefits? You had no idea. But what friend takes you on a road trip, picks out a playlist and kisses you all the time?
Must be some fucking friendship in that case.
“Penny for your thoughts?” Luke asked, glancing at you for a second before returning to the road.
Sick and full of pride All we do is drive
“Just thinking, nothing specific.” Luke nodded at you, not quite buying your answer but not prodding you about
“Car duet with me?” Luke asked, turning up the All Time Low song. You laughed and raised an eyebrow.
“Fine but be warned, I’m a horrible singer.” Luke rolled his eyes at you before staring to sing along loudly.
The both of you noisily sang along to various songs, you using your fist as a microphone and him making ridiculous faces and singing in a falsetto. Luke slowed down once he spotted a motel up close. The large signboard had broken down, and the motel was dimly lit from the outside
The inside wasn’t much better, there was an angry looking middle aged woman standing behind the counter. The floor was littered with tissues and metal cans.
“Maybe this was a bad idea.” You whispered, nervously staring at your surroundings.
Your laugh echoes down the hallway Carves into my hollow chest, Spreads over the emptiness
Luke scrunched his face at the stench from the “lobby”, he noticed your discomfort and wondered for a moment before getting an idea. His eye lit up when he did and he rushed out of the motel, your hand tightly grasped in his. Behind you the woman at the counter was yelling. Both of you were giggling wildly, Luke started the car quickly and drove away.
You tried ignore the warm feeling heating up your stomach when Luke reached for your hand before.
He’s Luke Hemmings Y/n, forget about it.
Luke kept driving until you reached an empty field-like clearing. He turned off the truck and gathered the blanket.
“What are you doing?”
“Just trust me.” He said flashing you a smile. He opened the gate of the back of the truck and sprawled the blanket across it.
“Ta da!” He announced, throwing his hands towards the direction of the truck.
“That’s actually pretty cool.” You admitted. Luke smiled, puling you into the back.
“And it’s comfy.” He said, but you weren’t paying attention. You were to busy staring at the sky. It was illuminated with thousands of stars all dotted across the sky linking into different patterns.
“You know, I know some astrology.” Luke’s voice floated into the air, you looked at him.
“Really?”
“No, but the look on your face me me wish I did.” he confessed grudgingly. You forced yourself to look down as you felt your face heat up. Suddenly, your stomach grumbled and embarrassment flooded your body.
“Someone’s hungry.” Luke joked, chuckling. You groaned and hid your face with your hands. “It’s okay let me get some food. I’m starving.”
It’s so simple but we can’t stay Overanalyze again
You squinted into the darkness as Luke went to the front and grabbed the bag of snacks. He placed the snacks on top of the bag and shot straight for the gummy worms making you giggle.
“Wait, Y/n throw them into my mouth let’s see how many I can catch.” Luke said, shoving the gummy worms into your hand. You rolled your eyes at him and pulled out a gummy worm, aimed it at his mouth and launched. It hit his nose and bounced off onto the floor.
“Well, that certainly was impressive.” You joked. Luke shook his head.
“Do it again.” He insisted. You threw another gummy worm into the air and this time it poked his eye.
“Agh!” Luke yelled, rubbing his eyes. Panic set into you as you scrambled towards him and grabbed his face to take a look at his eye.
“Oh my god, I’m so sorry! I didn’t mean to-” Your speech was cut short when you noticed that Luke wasn’t writhing in pain like you expected him to, but was laughing.
“You dick!” You cried, hitting him. He laughed harder and grabbed your hands. The struggling sent you both rolling onto the floor of the truck. Soon you felt stitches form on your sides as your laughter began to fade. comfortable silence fell over the two of you as you both gazed up at the sky.
“What are we Luke?” You blurted out suddenly. You felt him stiffen next to you.
“What do you mean?” he asked.
“As in what are we? Are we friends or..?” You trailed off, too embarrassed to continue.
“I didn’t really give labels much of a thought but we’re definitely not friends.” Luke confirmed, reaching over to wrap his arms around your mid section. You nodded, not knowing how to answer.
“I didn’t either I was just wondering.” You said, trying to shrug it off.
“But I’d like to be something more to you if you’d let me.” He said quietly.
“I’d always let you.” You answered, putting your hand on his. You felt him place a kiss on your cheek before you felt yourself smiling off into sleep.
And California never felt like home to me Until I had you on the open road and I was singing
“I guess I should take you out on that date then huh?” Luke said, once you guys finished cleaning up you breakfast.
“Way to sound enthusiastic Luke.” You teased, folding the blanket. He quickly looked over you with a panicked expression.
‘No! I’ve been thinking about it for a while now- oh.” He added, once he noticed you were laughing.
“Oh ha ha, very funny.” He said sarcastically, as he got into the car.
“I learnt from the best.” You said, poking his cheek. He rolled his eyes and turned up the music.
“Car duet with me?”

Masterlist
Nearly everybody in your school had heard of Luke Hemmings: The Guitar Player. However, you rarely saw him with any friends around. You figured maybe he liked being by himself, or that his friends went to a different school, but it wasn’t until lunch one day that you figured out his story.
You were sitting with your usual group of friends outside for lunch one day. Sitting closely by, under the shade of a tree, was Luke. His face was buried in an old notebook. You tried to pay attention to what your friend was saying, but for some reason, you couldn’t keep your eyes off of Luke. He seemed so interesting, with his secret notebook, always keeping to himself. You wanted to go over and talk to him, but you figured that a nobody like yourself wouldn’t be able to keep up a conversation with someone like him. Every once in a while, Luke would look up from whatever he was doing and look around the field hopefully. Maybe he was waiting for someone, you thought. You caught his eye, and quickly looked away. “Typical Y/N, always embarrassing myself” you muttered. Again, you tried paying attention to whatever your friends were talking about, but your eyes trailed over to Luke once again.
This time, he wasn’t alone. Three boys had surrounded him. This must be who he was waiting for, you thought to yourself. It wasn’t until Luke seemed to look very uncomfortable and scared that you realized what what going on: these people weren’t his friends, they were bullying him. Quickly, you grabbed your lunch bag and walked over to him, an idea hatching in your mind.
“Hi Luke! Sorry I’m late, I got caught up in class. How’s your day going?” You said, sitting down next to him, opening up your lunch again. Luke looked very surprised at first, but seemed to catch on quickly enough that he didn’t say anything.
“Who’s this Hemmings, your girlfriend?” One of the guys asked.
“No, she’s just a friend. Leave us alone, now will you?” Luke said, gaining confidence.
The guys laughed at Luke, but walked away.
Luke focused his eyes at the ground and began playing with a blade of grass.
“Thanks,” He muttered, quickly becoming shy,
“Anytime,” you said, “Do you mind if I stay here? My friends are kind of boring,” You said, genuinely wanting to stay and talk to Luke.
Luke looked up at you, his eyes gleaming. “You want to sit with me?”
“Of course, why wouldn’t I?” You asked, popping a chip in your mouth.
“Not many people want to talk to me, let alone be seen with me,” Luke’s eyes dropped again.
“But why? I think you’re pretty cool, with that guitar and all,” You told him, trying to get him to look you in the eye.
“Really? Thank you,” Luke said with a smile so big, it could light up Times Square.
“You’re welcome. What’s that notebook you’re writing in?” You asked, only to realize you had only been talking to Luke for less than five minutes and of course he wouldn’t want to tell a complete stranger what was in his notebook. “I’m sorry, you don’t have to answer, I was just curious.”
“It’s okay, I write songs in here.” Luke said, still smiling.
“Well, you’re just gonna have to sing them to me one day,” you said with a playful smirk.
You and Luke continued to talk until the bell rang, both of you gaining a new best friend.
For shutuplashton ‘s blurb night!
can you please write about Luke studying in the library but he keeps getting distracted by someone's music and desk drumming?
It was finals week and the library was absolutely packed. Luke was fortunate enough to have nabbed a seat right next to the biggest window in the entire library, and the seat across from him was completely empty. It was prime conditions for studying.
highschool!Luke
for txhohood‘s blurb night i might’ve gone a bit long but oh well ((kinda want to make this into a little more lol))
so imagine your first day of junior year. it was only 9:30, but your day had been falling apart. You forgot your schedule changed, your locker wouldn’t open, and you just found out that you had ordered some of the wrong textbooks for your classes. You’d think this being your third first day of high school would’ve gone a bit smoother, but at this point you just hoped it wouldn’t get worse. But you had made it to second period AP Lang, the only class you knew you were going to enjoy because it was the only class you had with your best friend. But as soon as you walked in the room, there was a seating chart on the podium in the front of the room; everyone gathered around it trying to figure out which seats were the front and which seats were the back. Sadly, your best friend sat on the complete other side of the room from you. BUt you had to move on. The bell rang and your teacher clered him throat to start talking about the syllabus when a thin, bumbling, blonde boy burst through the door.
“I’m sorry, uh, Mr. Weston. My locker, uh, wouldnt open so i had to go to the, uh, office. Here’s my note,” he squeaked. Mr. Weston smiled,
“Ah yes, Mr. Hemmings i’m glad you could join us. Please make your way to the seat next to Miss y/l/n.” Luke blushed and made his way towards the seat directly to your left. Luke smiled at you, sheepishly and sat down. You knew the kid because he was two lockers down from yours, but until this year you had never had a class with him. When Mr. Weston started talking, you looked over to your best friend across the room and smiled. She smiled back, pointed to Luke, and mouthed: “He’s cute and smart. Get it.” to which you giggled and Mr. Weston paused his tangent about the many different books you would be reading in preparation for the spring AP exam.
“Is something funny, Miss y/l/n?” he looked at you. You turned bright red.
“No, sir. But i was wondering if we were going to have any group projects this semester.”
