(Student I enters the room, a loud gasp can be heard through the doorway)
Mr. Sambata: Buti nakapunta ka, please, take a seat.
Student I: Oh sige, pero nakakapagtaka pa rin paano nila ako nahanap sa New York. Dun ako nagtatrabaho ngayon eh.
Mr. Sambata: Is that so? Well, this is a good time para ma-interview kita.
Mr. Sambata: As much as gusto ko rin sabihin sa’yo, I’m afraid I may not be able to share any information to you.
Student I: S-seryoso ba?! Pati sina Ma’am Sky ayaw rin sabihin bakit andito kami eh. Huy ah, baka kung ano nanamerls ‘to.
Mr. Sambata: No worries, Ms. Lee. The quicker you finish, you’ll be on your way again.
Student I: Oh sige, basta ‘wag personal ah.
Mr. Sambata: Understood. Can you please state your name and occupation for the record, Ms. Lee?
Student I: Nakarecord ba ‘to?
Mr. Sambata: I..
(Brief silence before Mr. Sambata starts to speak again)
Mr. Sambata: ..For the record, I’ll take a video of our session.
Student I: P’wede tumanggi?
Mr. Sambata: I’m afraid not.
Student I: ‘No ba ‘yan.
Mr. Sambata: Can you please state your name and occupation for the record, Ms. Lee?
Student I: S-sandali lang! Kailangan ko kumuha ng energy bago sumagot!
(Brief silence for a moment before student I speaks again)
Student I: Ako nga pala si Madeleine Yue Elizalde-Lee, at ako’y nagtatrabaho bilang isang Teacher sa Baker University.
Mr. Sambata: Specifically, Math Teacher?
(Slightly chuckles)
Mr. Sambata: ..I see, can you tell us more about your occupation?
The usuals, the basic and other things. While I was on break.
Mr. Sambata: I apologize to hear that, Ms. Lee
Mr. Sambata: Don't worry, Ms. Lee, you’ll be on your way after this.
Student I: Ay talaga ba? No joke? Mahal ang flight kung ihahatid pa ako. Sagot ko na kayo—
Mr. Sambata: Do you have any allergies we should be aware of?
(Brief silence as student I spoke again)
Student I: ..Allergies? W-wait, bakit biglang personal agad? Akala ko ba walang personal questions dito?
Mr. Sambata: Kyle answered the questions very clearly, I suggest you do the same.
Student I: ..Right, sige, uhm..
(Student I went silent for a moment during the questioning before she spoke once again.)
Student I: From what I can remember, since I’m like old naman. NOT really old ha, like saks lang. I’m quite allergic sa oats.
Mr. Sambata: I see, any symptoms we should be concerned about?
Student I: Kanina medyo nasusuka ako, pero that's about it.
Mr. Sambata: Any phobias?
Student I: Ha?
Mr. Sambata: Phobias, Ms. Lee
Student I: Ewan ko? I don't know why you're asking me about this when I’m clearly not aware of it.
Mr. Sambata: Alright, one final question before we go on your way.
Student I: Go lang!
Mr. Sambata: Would you betray your peers for a major prize?
(Brief silence as student I was unable to answer at some point)
Student I: I mean, depends on the circumstances to be honest. What type of prizes are we talking about?
Mr. Sambata: Something that is very valuable to your life.
Student I: T-then.. hmm..
(Student I falls silent once again before she starts to talk)
Student I: I’ll fight for it, of course. But I’d probably be in a fair share if may kailangan talaga non. Hindi naman ako yung nag-iisa dito eh.
Mr. Sambata: Alright, thank you Ms. Lee for participating in our interview session. You’ll be escorted back to your room shortly.
Student I: W-wait.. sa room? Like classroom?
Mr. Sambata: ..Yes, Ms. Lee.
Student I: O-okay.. pero Is it alright if I-contact ko asawa ko? Just for him to be aware na—
Mr. Sambata: I’m afraid we’re not going to allow that.
Student I: T-then, p’wede pasabi atleast na bumalik ako ng pilipinas? Banggitin niyo lang na school trip ito! I don't want him to be worried na hindi ako makakauwi.
Mr. Sambata: Very well, I’ll end the recording now.
Mr. Sambata: Jude, It's nice to see you again. Please, take a seat for a moment
Student G: O-okay..
Mr. Sambata: It seems that you're a bit worked up all of a sudden, why is that?
Student G: I mean, technically we’re not that close.
Mr. Sambata: No worries, Mr. Rosales. For the record, I’ll be taking a video of our interview session. Likewise, answer the following questions provided to you and you’ll be on your way.
Student G: Sa bahay, ‘di ba? K-kasi dun naman ako nakatira eh..
Mr. Sambata: Please state your name and occupation for the record.
(Brief silence for Student G before he opens his mouth again)
Mr. Sambata: It's for the record, Mr. Rosales
Student G: A-ay, okay. Uhm let’s see..
(Brief silence)
Student G: Okay lang ba tagalog, sir?
Mr. Sambata: Whichever you prefer, Mr. Rosales.
Mr. Sambata: Basically a Film Critic.
Student G: O-opo sir.
Mr. Sambata: Alright, what do you usually do as a Film Critc.
Mr. Sambata: I see, so parang mas specific kayo?
(Brief silence before student G speaks)
Student G: Allergies?
Mr. Sambata: For the record, I’m afraid I cannot share any information for now.
Student G: I-.. Sir, medyo nalilito po na talaga ako. Bakit po kasi ako nandito?
Mr. Sambata: Do you have any allergies, Mr. Rosales?
(Brief silence as student G speaks once again)
Student G: ..Wala naman po..
Mr. Sambata: Any symptoms we should be aware of while you stay here?
Student G: S-stay?! Sir!
Mr. Sambata: Mr. Rosales, if you don't behave I may call security to return you back to your room.
Student G: S-sir..! Maawa po kayo sa’kin..
(Student G can be seen kneeling down towards Mr. Sambata. Student G can also be heard sniffling while begging to be released.)
Mr. Sambata: I-I.. Mr. Rosales! For the last time, If you don't stand there I may have to call security on you to return to your rooms.
(Student G was still seen kneeling down as he begged.)
- DIALING #XXXX
– PHONE CONNECTED TO SECURITY FORCE AGENTS
Mr. Sambata: G-good morning..! Mr. Rosales refuses to cooperate in.. s-session interview–!
(Mr. Sambata continues to struggle with the heavy grip of Student G before security finally sedates him.)
(Mr. Rosales can be heard huffing for one last time)
